Tata Pedro and Shuni Giron to Lead Fall Equinox Programs and Fire Ceremonies
Sept 20 - 23
Los Mayas Galacticos
We are so blessed to have Tata Pedro Cruz spend time with us during his North American tour this September. We especially thank our beloved Shuni Giron for convincing him to come.
While here, he will  teach, lead fire ceremonies and give us a rare opportunity for Questions and Answers.

We are in for a treat! Of all of the Tata's I spend time with, he has the brightest twinkle in his eye, the most exquisite singing voice and plays his flute directly into your soul.

His ceremonies combine all of these elements, making them so special, and quite different, from what we have experienced over the past few years.

Join us! Bring your friends, family, children and offerings.

Waiting on the World to Change
...or PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE
Greetings!

OK, I confess. I have been procrastinating writing this newsletter. I couldn't get a grip. Half way into 2012, the drought, bringing on a nagging sense of abnormality and my conscience wiggling uncomfortably between truth and what I know people want to hear. The Shift is upon us, bearing down, actually, and paradoxically we can seem more stuck than ever.

Barbara Hand Clow recently stated during a "fireside" chat that immediately upon hearing about the "Dark Night Rising" massacre she went into deep meditation. May I suggest that we all do the same, especially during times of mass consciousness manipulation? With fervor, we can hold the light.

As I write this, some of your minds are being held captivate by the Olympic games in good ole' reptilian London-town. Fortunately, many (as many??) others perceive these events as gross, though glittery, displays of primitive consciousness. We are unable to watch billions of pounds being spent this way while so many people and issues rot away in obscurity.

The summer of 2012 may be remembered as one filled with uncanny extremes. May these challenges compel us to go deeper, examine our behaviors to rout out our undiscovered parts, trusting that our personal work contributes to collective healing.

One of my summer's highlights was listening to a lifelong friend (she and I share the same namesake) spontaneously quote Rumi from memory:

"All day I think about it, then at night I say it.
Where did I come from, and what am I supposed to be doing?
I have no idea.
My soul is from elsewhere, I'm sure of that,
and I intend to end up there.

This drunkenness began in some other tavern.
When I get back around to that place,
I'll be completely sober. Meanwhile,
I'm like a bird from another continent, sitting in this aviary.
The day is coming when I fly off,
but who is it now in my ear who hears my voice?
Who says words with my mouth?

Who looks out with my eyes? What is the soul?
I cannot stop asking.
If I could taste one sip of an answer,
I could break out of this prison for drunks.
I didn't come here of my own accord, and I can't leave that way.
Whoever brought me here will have to take me home."

In a few more weeks the election marketers will crank up more waves of mind control. They will be screaming vociferously across the HD airwaves, trying, unsuccessfully, to drown out the subtle, soft light of the Indian summer sun.

Heart of the Heaven, Heart of the Earth, Heart of the Wind and Heart of the Water, we have so much gratitude for your wisdom - to break out of this prison for drunks!

con amor,

bjs

PS- In this newsletter, I've been trying to have John Mayer's "Waiting on the World to Change" playing for you in the back ground, BUT it keeps getting pre-empted by NBC's ad for the Olympics.  Foiled again!

Maya Walking for Peace and Love

Tata Pedro Cruz on Conch

Many of us have been waiting, wondering what the Maya were going to be doing with the energies of 2012. While the Westerners weigh-in on the theories, plan their conventions, instigate internet shift movements and polish off documentary films, the Maya are doing what is totally Maya...walking.

Tata Pedro Cruz, one of the most illustrious of the Guatemalan elders, is leading Project #13, Baktun Oxlajui (13) 2012,

"The Return of Real Men, the Men of Corn"

The COCAVIPAM, -a Spanish acronym for the International Council of Walkers for Life and Peace, will be walking all over Guatemala on the 12th & 13th days of the Mayan sacred calendar's 13 day Trecena cycles throughout the year.

The project's vision is to walk, activating sacred sites nationally and internationally, with a message of life, peace and unity among all human beings.

The team of walkers' mission is to educate and inform others about the Mayan culture and the true meaning behind the different Mayan calendars and message ancestral happenings in 2012.

SPECIAL NOTE!!
The walk for September, 2012, will be held at a sacred site called "Frank's Hill" in northern Wisconsin.

September 4 at 5:00 PM WALK  - 7:00 PM FIRE CEREMONY

Tata Pedro has requested that everyone wear WHITE for this walk and the ceremony.

Looking for a sweet place to be for winter solstice, Dec 21, 2012, when the Mayan Long Count calendar cycle shifts from 13.0.0.0 to 1.0.0.0.0.0? How comforting to be among those who know the world will not end!

Join us on the beautiful Lake Peten in el Remate, Guatemala, 30 minutes from Tikal National Park, for 7 days of ceremony, teachings, laughter and YOGA.

I'm thrilled to be teaching YOGA classes each morning during  Unificacion Maya this year. Ancient wisdom of the East meets ancient wisdom of the West! We'll practice on a large deck directly overlooking the water, with magnificent sunrises and sunsets.

I should urge you to decide soon, as space is getting limited.

Mayan Cross Readings - Discover Your Soul's Purpose

Codice Depicting the Year Bearers
The Mayan Sacred Calendar
People often ask "what do you do with your Mayan Cross readings?"

Each one is different, as are each one of you. I always ask ahead of time what has compelled you to take a step further into the unknown (a.k.a. yourself) and then use this as guidance to meeting your needs.

Many of you come to this work with confusion on who you really are and what you're supposed to be doing 'round here! Many of you think you had it figured out and before the Universe threw you a curve ball. Several of you are facing bizarre obstacles and ridiculous family dynamics. Others wish confirmation on their romantic lives.

Whatever draws you, know that the Mayan Cross is meant to be a human life guidance system. It's as practical as it is spiritual. It can give you direct answers, but only if you are truly listening. Working with your Cross, your mantra and the energies, you can become soul-aware.

Please email me at mayancross@gmail.com if you would like to explore more.
Dedicated to the inner journey through yoga, meditation and Mayan wisdom since 2001.
