Healing from Accidents
Most people have been in an accident of one sort or another sometime in their lifetime. While these events might be devastating at the time, what most people do not realize is that those traumas will be carried with each person for the rest of one's life. This is true unless he chooses to begin to release the layers of trauma. Little do most people realize is the fact that the traditional healing approach often leaves someone frustrated and battered. The classic mechanistic model of healing will often misdiagnose and mistreat an injury. The good news is that there are many healing styles and modalities to choose from. Anyone who chooses to heal can have at his fingertips the tools and resources to recover. This newsletter explores some approaches and provides the tools to guide you through that process. Living with a lifetime of pain is a choice. Feeling good in your body is also a choice.

The Perils and Pitfalls of Physical Therapy
"Physical therapy" is a term that we have come to know that signifies many things to many people. The concept of physical therapy is associated with treatment after a trauma or injury. While many people receive excellent treatment and results, others are left wondering if there is not something more. Some of the best rehabilitation work comes from people who do not call themselves "physical therapists." Often some of the most influential healing experiences are not "insurance approved." In fact, most people who only rely on their insurance disbursements often find themselves short-changed. The following article explores in-depth the nature of physical therapy, the questions one should be asking and the right approach in order to have the greatest healing experience.

How to Heal from a Car Crash
There are over two million people injured each year in the United States alone in automobile accidents. While many people are able to find the right resources to heal and repair their body, many are not so lucky.
There are many healing tools to choose from when recovering from an automobile accident. Unfortunately, most people choose incorrectly and are burdened with the trauma of the crash for years to come. Whiplashes and frozen shoulders do not just go away by themselves. Long after the medical doctor that treated you has either retired or died, you might still be suffering from the consequences of the crash.
This article explores in depth the focus and methods needed to recover completely from an accident.

When you are suffering from an injury or trauma, a heating pad can be an essential pain reducer and effective tool in healing. Having the right heating pad can make all the difference.
Moist heat transfer is up to one-hundred times more efficient than dry heat. This means that the heat will penetrate more thoroughly and deeply when using a moist pack as opposed to a dry heat pack.
Thermophore manufactures a variey of moist heat pads that are all electric. No need to apply any water. This is a great choice when looking for relief.

Ice or Heat?
You are not alone if you are often confused when to use ice or heat following an injury. There are many schools of thought, but you can avoid trepidation by following some very simple advice.
1. If the injury is recent, (within the last 48 hours), ice is recommended.
2. If the injury is chronic, (you have had it for awhile), heat is recommended.
3. If there is any swelling, ice is preferable.
4. Moist heat is preferable to dry heat.
5. Do not apply ice directly to the skin. Wrap it in a moist towel.

What to do if Someone else is in a Car Crash
Approaching someone who has been in a car accident is more common than you might think. For most people, sometime in their lifetime they will be on the scene of a car accident. People often panic and do the wrong things. Here are a couple of common sense ideas that you may wish to remember.
|
1. Tell the person who has been injured what has happened. For example,"You have been in a car accident." They may be dazed and in shock and not know where they are or what has happened.
2. Develop a personal relationship. Tell the person your name. Ask their name.
3. Inform the injured person that help is on the way. If you are not able to do so then have someone else call 911. This will help to reassure the injured that they can relax and help will arrive shortly.
4. Ask if there is anyone who you can contact for the injured person. Often people are worried about a spouse or children not knowing what has happened.
5. Stay with them until qualified medical help has arrived. Any emotional support is critical even if you are just holding someone's hand.
