THOUGHTS TO  PONDER
People don't stiffen because they age: people age because they stiffen
-Jon Burras-

Yoga  and Fascia

Come for the workout-but enjoy the magical benefits of yoga. Many people only see yoga as another way to workout. There is so much more that yoga has to offer. When one begins to grasp the concept of connective tissue and fascia the yoga practice begins to transform.
Fascia is a "saran wrap" like substance that travels throughout the entire body and is more numerous than all muscles and nerves combined. Fascia is a thin material that wraps and binds tissues together.
As one stretches and melts into a yoga pose the fascia is transformed from a solid shape into that of a liquid. The body morphs from a hard mass into a liquid and energized bag of water. New life is brought to cells. Energy transmutes throughout the body. One begins to feel more youthful and freer in the joints.
While nearly ignored and discarded by the Western medical community, one of the long-held secrets to vibrant health is through the fascia network.

Yoga for Healthy Bones

Bones are part of the vast network of connective tissue within the body. Bones are made up of mineral salts, (like calcium and phosphorus), and water. Having a liquid nature to them, bones will change shape based on the forces that are pulling on them.
Yoga is one of the best, (if not the best), practice to maintain healthy bones. When one continues to stretch and transform the connective tissue surrounding the bones, new life is breathed into the bones. Bones cannot survive without healthy fascia surrounding them.
Many have been convinced by their Western medical doctor that taking drugs like Fosamax and repeated high impact aerobics along with strength training will insure good bone health. It does not. In fact, the standard fitness and drug therapy for bone health only weakens bones in the long term.
When it comes to healthy bones there is no match for a consistent yoga practice.

8 Myths of Inversions

So you might be a yoga junkie and have been practicing headstands, shoulder stands, and other inversions for some time, thinking they were actually doing you a world of good. Think again!
There is very little benefit to practicing regular inversions. Despite the good intentions of many misinformed yoga teachers who have just been repeating the misinformation taught to them during their yoga trainings, there is very little evidence that inversions have much benefit to the body.
For instance, in the yoga world the shoulder stand is often referred to as the "queen" of all poses while the head stand is called the "king" of poses. The theory is that the hypothalamus and pituitary glands deep within the brain are "bathed and flooded" with fresh blood when one is turned upside down. This is thought to bring great insights and spiritual benefits to the practitioner.
The only problem with this theory is that it is wrong. The brain is not bathed in more blood when turned upside down. The brain is an organ that requires a constant stream of blood flow, not an increase or a decrease. Too much blood and the brain fears exploding in a stroke. Too little and one feels faint and dizzy. There are mechanisms in place, (like baroreceptors and the blood brain barrier), which help to regulate and keep a steady flow of blood to the brain.
    Sorry, yogis! Another myth unfolded.

"The Myth of Osteoporosis"
a book by
Gillian Sanson

bio pro cell chip

Most people don't think much about their bones until they are dragged into their doctor's office and handed the horrible diagnosis of having "Osteoporosis". They are brain-washed by a media campaign and by well-paid celebrity endorsements,(like Sally Field promoting the use of Fosamax). This does not have to be the case.
    Did you know that most people do not have Osteoporosis who have been diagnosed with such disease? The pharmaceutical industry has lowered the standards to sell more drugs. In this well-researched book you will discover the truth and be able to take action. Here are a few of the bits of wisdom you will discover;
-Consuming pasteurized dairy products will actually weaken your bones in the long run.
-The best source of calcium comes from eating dark green leafy vegetables and not from taking synthetic calcium pills.
-Bone density tests are calibrated against a group of young, athletic, high school and college female athletes. This makes it easier for nearly all to fail the tests when compared.
-Bone density tests are a very inaccurate way to measure what is actually going on in your bones.
