Greetings!
It's been a few weeks since we updated you on the Salmonflies, and that was mostly because the weather took a turn just a few short days after our first update. Things have settled back in now and the bugs are hatching on the Big Hole and there's a few starting to fly on the Upper Madison. Best of all we think that there's going to be a fishable hatch on the Gallatin and Yellowstone this year with some rivers dropping and taking shape in time for the Orange Aliens to hatch.
Once the hatch really gets going on the Madison, expect that we'll let you know where the bugs are at - until then if you want to go chase the hatch, your best bet is on the Big Hole somewhere above Divide more than likely as the hatch will be heading up high towards Sporstman's and Fishtrap with all the warm weather over the next few days. Now go get out on the water and toss around some big uglies, Kris Kumlien Montana Troutfitters 800-646-7847 |
