As we observe the majesty of nature, we note how streams of water restore a withering plant back to vitality, how a breath of wind boost the wings of an eagle to greater heights and how the ocean waves brush the shore and draw a parched fish back into nourishing waters to swim freely. Much like these innate patterns of nature, so do we possess the power to give strength, confidence, life, authority and permission to others; permission to be the best, license to surpass all expectation. As "iron sharpens iron", so do we posses the Power to Empower!
You may be asking, "What can 'I' do in this 'BIG world' to make a difference"? That is the question. If we purpose to do good for the betterment of humanity, what we can collectively achieve is boundless. It is about investing in the lives of others which is an investment in ourselves. A Community is made up of both you and I. Individually and collectively we have the ability to make a positive imprint in the world.
Perhaps it begins with planting seeds of hope. "YES WE CAN"; one man, three simple words and the movement that changed the history of our nation and how the world at large views the United States of America. His ambition to make a mark on the world is what fueled (now) President Barack Obama to commit his life to that of public service, community organizing and making a difference. Before becoming "Commander in Chief", President Obama utilized his grassroots efforts to mobilize and inspire others to exercise their voice with a spirit of HOPE.
Let us not wait another day or look to another person to do what we can do for ourselves and others. Let us search our mind, body and spirit to identify ways that we can apply our "Power to Empower" today!

5 WAYS TO EXERCISE YOUR "POWER TO EMPOWER"
1. Become educated.... Knowledge is power; therefore, we must first peel back the layers of fear and intimidation by understanding the meaning of power, personal power and empowerment in order to effectively exercise your power to empower others.
2. Encourage..... Make it a point to use your positive and influential voice to shape your sphere of influence.
3. Exercise our personal power......Start or join a professional, personal, community or faith-based organization for a cause that you are passionate about and encourage others get involved and take action.
4. Apply the Golden Rule.....Treat others with respect is the basic art of humanity and way to cultivate unity, harmony and community.
5. Let your life speak for itself. Live a life that is a positive example and others will witness how they can also be a change agent in the World by giving of one's self.
