To celebrate its new Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside has proclaimed 2012 as the Year of Arts and Humanities with more than 200 arts events.
- Wilmot Mountain has expanded! The Wilmot Mountain Snow Tubing Area opens this Friday, January 6 at noon!
- Kenosha HarborMarket is celebrating its 10th year of operation. Visit Winter HarborMarket on Saturdays inside Rhode Center for the Arts.
- 2012 marks the 40th anniversary for the Aquanut Water Shows. The new season for this free family entertainment option opens May 26.
The Bristol Renaissance Faire celebrates its 25th anniversary when its nine-weekend season opens July 7.
- Exciting changes are underway at Best Western Harborside Inn and Kenosha Conference Center. Among them for 2012: a complete renovation of all guest rooms, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and wireless Internet.
Culver's Pleasant Prairie sports a new look! Be sure to stop in for a ButterBurger or the Flavor of the Day while on your way to or from Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets!
- Two new stores opening soon at Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets: The Great Steak & Potato Co. (estimated March 1 opening) and American Eagle Outfitters (estimated April 15).
It may have opened last year, but it's such big news, we can't stop talking about it! New to Downtown Kenosha is Jockey Factory Store, with its famous "backroom" full of amazing savings.
- Explore Kenosha's outdoors in a new way! The Kenosha News now offers free apps for your mobile device detailing the Kenosha Sculpture Walk and Kenosha's National Register Historic Districts.
- First Fridays at our I-94 Visitor Information Center has expanded to include the first Friday of every month. Stop by between noon and 3 p.m. to receive a very warm welcome from area businesses.
