ARE YOU
IN A

MID-LIFE CAREER TRANSITION?

Greetings!

If you are between the ages of thirty-five and fifty and are experiencing the following feelings, you have the symptoms of a potential mid-life career transition:

-Feeling burdened by unmet needs.

-Frustrated by the realities of your current workplace that involve overwhelming responsibilities where your organization asks too much and gives too little, leaving you feeling burned-out and unappreciated.

-Feeling obsolete (you failed to keep up with career technologies, procedures, and practices essential to your field).

According to one survey by Sinick (1975) these are some of the reasons for a voluntary mid-career transition:

-Your current career is not your own choice.

-Your original aspirations are not met by your current career.

-Your purpose that is attached to your current career is accomplished.

-You have a desire to implement avocational interests.

-Your current career lacks the adequate outlet for creativity.

-Your current career does not provide a variety in work content.

-Your values and lifestyle are contrary to your coworkers.

-Your personality conflicts with your supervisor or coworkers.

-The greener grass is in another field.

Book: The Drama of Dance in the Local Church by
Dr. Emily A. Pardue

What is liturgical dance?  And where does it come from?  Does it have any scriptural foundation?   These are relevant questions for dance in the local church.  This book looks at liturgical dance and its place in the worship service.  Liturgical dance has been acknowledged by many in the religious community as a way to assist individuals and church bodies in enhancing the worship experience.  This book is for anyone who wishes to explore their gifts through drama and dance.  And for those who are still struggling with the idea of dance in the church.  It is designed to help understand the great significance a liturgical dance ministry can have on the church.   It will help familiarize church leaders and parishioners with scriptures that support dance ministries.  It is designed to help understand the great significance a liturgical dance ministry can have on the church.  It will help familiarize church leaders and parishioners with scriptures that support dance ministries.  E-mail: epardue@ameritech.net.

Book: It's Not That Serious!! by Celeste Kelley

Have you experienced the wrath of someone drinking glasses filled with Hateraide? This is the self-empowering, socially and morally conscious story of how sisters and brothers, alike, all too often hate on each other for no apparent reason whatsoever. This book teaches important methods for dealing with individuals that drink from the well of Hateraide, so that it does not become addictive in our own life. More importantly, this book helps us to lean not to our own understanding, but trust God. It will give you many scenarios, some experienced by the author and some that many have.
