ANN's Going Global
99NICU
The Academy of Neonatal Nurses
proudly announces its partnership with one of the most useful and friendly
virtual web communities in the world! 99nicu, based in Sweden and developed
by neonatologist Stefan Johansson, MD, is a fantastic knowledge resource that
allows professionals from all time zones to communicate ideas, share
experiences, and ask questions. Why 99nicu? Because 99 percent of the
discussion forums are neonatal oriented, and the remaining 1 percent is an informal
meeting place for neonatal health care professionals. To check out the
discussion forums, go to www.99nicu.org/forum. 99nicu will also be hosting free
Virtual Neonatal Grand Rounds later this year.
COINN
ANN has partnered with the
Council of International Neonatal Nurses (COINN), an organization represented by
regional networks from over 40 countries to help a nurse attend an
international nursing conference. Like currency, COINN's goal is exchange and
sharing of information. Other major partners include the World Health
Organization and The International Council of Nurses. Help ANN send a nurse
from a third world country to the 6th International
Neonatal Nursing Conference, September 15-18, 2007, in New Delhi, India.
To donate to this very worthy cause, please click here. Donations will also be
accepted at the 4th National Advanced Practice Neonatal Nurses Conference in Hawaii. For more
information about the 6th International Neonatal Nursing Conference, go to
www.icnn2007.com.
Vermont Oxford Network
Is your hospital a member of
the Vermont Oxford Network (VON)? Established in 1988, VON is a nonprofit
voluntary collaboration of health care professionals dedicated to improving the
quality and safety of health care for neonates and their families. Today, there
are over 550 NICU members from 23 countries participating! To promote
evidenced-based practice in neonatal care, VON's Clinical Trial Division
conducts clinical trials in such areas as delivery room management, early surfactant
replacement, heat loss prevention (HeLP), neonatal skin care, and neonatal encephalopathy. See if your NICU is a Vermont Oxford Network member. Visit vtoxford.org, and
then click on "About Us," then "Membership List." |
NICU Critical Decision Simulation
The gaming company, Rival

Simulation, a high-end 3-D graphics gaming program, is easy to use and exposes
new NICU nurses to clinical situations without potential harm to an actual
patient. Jill Duncan, RN, BSN, MPH, ANN member, and clinical nurse specialist at
IFHC, is the clinical content expert. To learn more about this new technology click here. You'll be amazed!
