We all know November is a time for gratitude. Some
of you may have a daily gratitude practice or at least
during our yoga grateful meditation focus on the
things that bring you true gratitude. Gratitude brings
light into our hearts, spreads loving warmth
throughout our bodies and radiates positive energy
into the world. Can we be grateful for all things in our
life? I am going to
suggest going beyond the obvious grateful moments
and finding
meaning for the dark moments in life also. Finding
beauty in these moments can bring you to a place of
peace and acceptance instead of misery and dread. I
am grateful for the flu. It is making my body stronger
for future strains of influenza and showing me ways to
practice yoga yet again without the asana. I am
grateful all things are transitory and I will welcome a
day soon when I am back in class with all of you.
When you practice gratitude, your ego gets out of the
way
and you experience your true Self. Depak Chopra
