"Truth or Dare" is a party game that is popular with adolescents and adults. One player starts the fun by asking another, "Truth or dare?" If the player answers, "truth," then he is asked to answer some embarrasing or weird question. If the player answeres "dare," then he must do something crazy and daring. The game can be much fun and much torture, depending on what is required from the questions.
When considering our Savior, will we dare to accept the truth about Him? Will we dare to learn the emet/truth about His nature, mission, and coming to earth?
The dare of this teaching is to open ourselves up to a Hebraic view of the Messiah as revealed in the Scriptures.
Most of what we know about our Savior we have learned from Pastors, Sunday school class, books, evangelists, and the Internet. Thankfully, we have already had our mind renewed to the truth of the Savior's true name. He was never called "Jesus" while on the Earth. Instead, He was given the Hebrew name "Y'shua" which means "salvation is from YHWH." We now recognize Him as a Rabbi and teacher of the Torah. He came "not to abolish the Torah" but to show us how to properly live. We have already recognized that He didn't have blue eyes and blond hair or black skin. And Y'shua wasn't just Jewish, He was and is the King of the Jews!
Will you today accept the dare to learn more about Y'shua? Will you allow your mind to transformed by a greater revelation of His power and purpose? This teaching goes against most of what mainstream Christianity teaches about Jesus. The concepts related in this article may be difficult to accept. In fact, many disciples stopped following Y'shua even when He originally taught this very subject. "Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, "This is a hard saying; who can understand it?" When Y'shua knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, "Does this offend you?" From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more," John / Yochannan 6:60 & 66. To walk with someone is a Hebraic idiom meaning to "follow someone or submit to their leadership." Because of this teaching many rejected Y'shua. Will you do the same or will you dare to really know Him?
Y'shua came to offer a clear path to eternal life. "Ani ha derech, ani ha emet, ani ha chayim - I am the way, the truth, and the life," John 14:6. He gave His life and shed His blood to pay the penalty for sin. In John, He spoke to a leader of the Jews and said emphatically "you must be born again." Even Jews must each personally accept Y'shua to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Part of Y'shua's mission was to restore the relationship with YHWH that had been lost by Adam. Y'shua was to right the wrongs of Adam and to accomplish what the first Adam could not. Indeed, the Bible actually calls Y'shua the "second Adam." Therefore to truly grasp and understand the second Adam we need to have a true biblical understanding of the first Adam. By knowing more about the first Adam, we can have better knowledge of the second.
In the beginning, Adam was created perfect. He was given dominion and power over the entire earth. YHWH instructed him to guard the garden. Adam was commanded not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. These instructions or "torah" from YHWH were to protect Adam and help him accomplish all that YHWH had for him. If Adam would have obeyed then He would have been blessed abundantly. He was given simple instructions, yet He disobeyed. He broke the "torah" that was given to Him by Abba YHWH. We all know that he fell from perfection. This disobedience to Torah is what the Bible calls "sin." Sin is violation of the will of YHWH. Sin is selfishness. A person sins when they enact their desire to receive for self alone. Different religious groups differ on their definition of sin but 1 John 3:4 clarifies the subject. "Whoever commits sin commits lawlessness; sin is lawlessness," 1 Yochannan 3:4.
Adam's sin caused humanity and even the ground of the earth to fall under certain curses. Indeed, the serpent, the woman, and the man each faced punishment because of the disobedience of Adahm. Adahm and Eve (Chava in Hebrew) were kicked out of the Garden of Eden and separated from the presence of YHWH. Death entered the world because of the first sin. "The wages of sin is death," says Romans 3:23.
Though Adam tried to cover his sin with fig leaves, he failed to truly deal with the sin issue. This shows us that man alone can not correct the sinful nature. Nothing you do will counteract the affects of sin. Good deeds, tithing, prayer, church attendance, or even obedience to the commandments will not conquer the power of sin. Sin leads to death. The only answer to sin is blood atonement. Genesis (Beresheet) 3:21 shows YHWH making the first couple coats of skin to wear in place of their frail fig leaves. This is the first example of animal sacrifice to cover the penalty of sin. Hebrews 9:22 says, "Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin." Man sinned and the wages of sin is death. Blood was shed as a covering for the first sin.
Even more, Adam's violation of YHWH's will brought about a change in the human race. Though Adahm was created as a perfect son of YHWH, he fell from perfection. When Adam sinned, his actions changed mankind forever. Even though his sin was individual, he acted as a representative of all mankind. His actions affected all of humanity. We all share in his sinfulness and we all share in his guilt. One major effect of Adahm's sin is that the human gene pool has been tainted with the sinful nature. Because of the fall, mankind is no longer perfect. Each person born after Adahm has inherited his sin. This is the idea of "original sin."
Sin is a genetic defect passed down from Adam Eve to all mankind. From parent to child throughout the generations, sin has affected the entire human race. Because of Adam's actions we are ALL born sinful. Each baby that comes into the world is born separated from YHWH with an evil inclination that is set against YHWH. We read more about this in the book of Romans. "Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned--For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous," Romans / Romiyah 5:12,19.
The doctrine of "original sin" teaches that we don't become a sinner after doing something wrong. Instead, we are each born into sin. RC Sproul said, "We are not sinners because we sin. We sin because we are sinners." A frog isn't a frog because it croaks. A frog croaks because it is a frog. Frogs croak. People sin. Sin is inherent and inevitable in every single person. Ephesians 2:3 says that we are "by nature children of wrath." Because we are born sinful, then we are born deserving the wrath of YHWH.
Oprah may say that we "are all God's children" but this isn't true. No matter how good some people seem, everyone is sinful. Humanity isn't basically good natured. We each are born with the desire, tendency, and stain of sin. Every second of every hour there are 5 babies born into our world. Each of these children are physically born into the Adam's family and into the kingdom of darkness. Children aren't born sinless. Children are born guilty and separated from YHWH. Consider this, a child immediately recognizes their error and need of redemption as soon as that child's mind allows him to consider his spiritual position. When children first realize their actions cause pain, they don't say "I am perfect." Instead, they usually tear up and say "I was wrong. I am sorry."
There are those that argue that there is an age of accountability for children or that YHWH's grace covers those who can not tell the difference between right and wrong. These "gray" areas are up to YHWH. What is crystal clear in the Scriptures is that sin has been passed down from Adam to all mankind. We have a sin problem. The actions of Adam brought about a change in the nature of mankind. Though we may scoff at Saddam Hussein or Charles Manson, their sinful nature is inside each person in the world. There's a Bin Laden born in everyone. That's why a person must be born again.
Moses instructed, the Torah was given, the prophets pleaded, and the curses continued but man has continued to sin. "YHWH looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek YHWH. They have all turned aside, They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one," Psalm / Tehillim 14:2,3. Each and every one of the "children of men" have turned from YHWH. No one on Earth is unaffected by sin. Therefore, we need the help and assistance of one NOT from this world. We need the aide of one not tainted with disobedience. We need someone to rescue us from death. A Savior without sinful desires must come to settle the debt of sin.
Moshe, the Torah, the Prophets, and the Writings all speak of a coming Messiah. This "anointed one" would lead the human race back to the Garden of Eden to restore man's lost relationship with YHWH. These prophecies came to pass when a heavenly messenger visited a young Hebrew virgin named Mary (Miriam in Hebrew). The angel proclaimed that though Miriam had not known a man, she was going to give birth to a son. This child was to be named "Y'shua" which means "YHWH is salvation."
Mary was astonished by the possibility and said to the angel, "How can this be, since I do not know a man?" And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of YHWH," Luke 1:34,35. (Notice that the Holy Spirit will "come upon" her and "power of the Most High" will overshadow her.) This, of course, is called the "virgin birth."
Something that is interesting about conception is that the mother contributes no blood to the baby. Blood is produced without contact with the mother's bloodstream, after the sperm meets the egg. "The mother provides the unborn developing infant with the nutritive elements for the building of that little body in the secret of her bosom, but all the blood which forms in that little body is formed in the embryo itself and only as a result of the contribution of the male parent. From the time of conception to the time of birth of the infant not ONE SINGLE DROP OF BLOOD ever passes from mother to child," wrote Dr. M.R. Dehaan.
Miriam's spouse Joseph (Yosef in Hebrew) physically had nothing to do with the conception of Y'shua. His sperm was not used and therefore his blood was not passed to Y'shua. Does this prove that the Savior had divine blood that had not been tainted by Adam's sin? That makes perfectly good sense.
Well, what about Mary? Did Y'shua get His humanity from her? Did He look like her? Wasn't it Mary's egg that was fertilized with a special seed? No. If that was the case, then Mary's sinful nature would have passed down to Y'shua. The truth is that Miriam acted merely as a surrogate mother of Y'shua. A surrogate mother is a woman who agrees to bear a child for a couple who are childless, usually due to wife being infertile or unable to carry a baby. The child grows inside the surrogate mother but has no biological relationship with the mother. This is exactly what we see with Y'shua and his earthly mother. YHWH bypassed human sperm and human egg to implant a heavenly body within Miriam. In doing so, Y'shua's flesh and blood was not tainted with the original sin of Adam.
Y'shua's flesh and blood were totally divine from YHWH. Y'shua said, "if you have seen me then you have seen the Father." Y'shua did NOT say, "if you have seen me then you have seen the virgin Mary." We've been told by our Pastors, Sunday school teachers, and church leaders that "Jesus" was 100% man and 100% god. What if that isn't true? What if Y'shua was more than just a man with a special anointing?
This "Truth or Dare" message proves that Y'shua was not born a sinful sinner. He was not born with the physical traits of Mary. He was not born with "normal" human flesh. He was not born 100% man and 100% YHWH. Instead, the scriptures clearly teach in Colossians 2:9 that in Y'shua "dwelt the fullness of YHWH in bodily form." Y'shua came to earth in the flesh but it wasn't earthly flesh. It couldn't have been earthly flesh because normal flesh had been polluted with sin.
The Messianic prophecies in Isaiah call Y'shua the "wonderful, counselor, everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Y'shua was the exact image of Abba YHWH in an earth suit.
Y'shua's flesh, blood, and bones were all from YHWH in Heaven. "There is a natural body and there is a spiritual body. And so it is written, "The first man Adam became a living being." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Master Mar Yah from heaven. As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man," 1 Corinthians 15:44-49.
Philippians 2 says that He "took on the form of a human." Hebrews 2 says that Y'shua appeared "like" his brothers but NOT in the nature of "angels or men." Y'shua came to earth with a perfect body just like Adahm in Genesis. This truth totally rejects the Greek myth of a man-god coming to earth to rescue humanity. And Judaism readily accepts this true idea of Y'shua as the "Adahm Kadmon" with the soul of Messiah. The "Adahm Kadmon" is the primordial Adam made in the "betzelem elohim" or "image of YHWH." We see more clearly how Y'shua came as the FULL image of YHWH in book of Luke.
Let's review the birth of the Messiah to learn more! Miriam was told, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of YHWH," Luke 1:34,35. The feminine aspect of YHWH, the Holy Spirit, hovered upon her and the power of the Father overshadowed her. In Genesis it says, "male and female, He created them both." Through a divine implant, YHWH brought forth the body of Y'shua. Notice in Genesis 1:35 that Y'shua is called the "son of YHWH." Y'shua wasn't the son of mankind, Adam, Mary, or Yosef but the very son of YHWH. Mary was a willing servant who raised Y'shua as a child. She was not sinless and she did not contribute to Y'shua's earthly body.
Y'shua came in the image and form of a perfect man. His body was 100% YHWH and 0% regular dusty human flesh. Yes, He was hungry, tired, and He even got dirty. And yes, He felt the human emotions of joy and sadness. His flesh looked "normal" and of this world but it was actually "out of this world." Y'shua's flesh was not polluted with sin and sinful desires.
When John 1:14 says, "the word was made flesh and dwelt among us." It literally means that. The word, the "Torah," was made into flesh and blood. The Torah literally walked and talked with mankind. In Hebrew the words "betzelem elohim" means "in the image of YHWH." We know that Y'shua was the exact image of YHWH. Y'shua is/was the betzelem elohim. Interestingly, the numerical value of the Hebrew letters found in the phrase "betzelem elohim" equals 248. A connection is clear, as there are exactly 248 positive, "thou shalt" commandments in the Torah. Y'shua's body was literally the Torah - the "thou shalts" made flesh!
Hebrews 10:5 explains that Y'shua came to earth in a body prepared for Him. His body was not given to Him by Mary or Joseph. "Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me," Hebrews / Ivrim 10:5. This passage is quoting the Psalms which say the same in chapter forty verse eight.
If Y'shua had natural human flesh then He could not have conquered the sin of Adam. The "all" of "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of YHWH" would have included Him.
If Y'shua had natural human flesh then He could not have offered His life as a sacrifice to YHWH. The Bible declares over and over again that YHWH abhors human sacrifice. See Deuteronomy 12:31 and 18:10 for the proof.
If Y'shua had natural human flesh then He could not have been the sinless Son of YHWH. Sin is transgression or violation of the Torah. The Torah clearly prohibits mixing of fabrics. Y'shua's body was NOT mixed with the fabric of Earth and the fabric of Heaven. This principle is called "shanetz" and validates that Y'shua was not some man-god hybrid. ""You shall not wear a garment of different sorts, such as wool and linen mixed together," Deuteronomy 22:11. The skin of Y'shua was totally YHWH.
Y'shua had to be born in the "form" of a man to accomplish what the first Adam failed to do. Y'shua came to bring life to death. "For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Messiah all shall be made alive," 1 Corinthians 15:21,22.
Our Messiah is the Truth or Dare Savior! Let us finish with the passage with which this teaching began. In John 6, we see Y'shua declaring Himself to be the Manna from Heaven. Remember that manna was the supernatural bread that came from YHWH to feed the Israelites in the wilderness. Y'shua makes it clear when He says, "I and the Father are one. I came down from Heaven to do the will of the one who sent me." Many of His disciples said, "this is a difficult teaching! Who can hear and obey?" Our Messiah is the pure whole wheat bread of Heaven. He has not been dyed or processed! Y'shua is YHWH in the flesh. Yes, this message is difficult but it is the truth.
One must make a choice when the message of the true unleavened bread Y'shua is presented. Will you dare to accept the emet? Or will you turn away from Y'shua to believe what the preacher has always taught? The more you are open to YHWH and the more you study, the more this revelation will be revealed. Study shows that the earliest believers in Y'shua taught this principle until church leaders adopted a hybrid Savior that appealed more to the pagans. To learn more visit www.yourarmstoisrael.org or read the book "Our Lastdays Meal" by Rabbi Moshe Koniuchowsky.
Y'shua's true nature is a life changing revelation. We are sinful beings. At birth humanity is separated from YHWH by the desire to receive for self. So, we need a Savior to provide redemption. We must be born again after this Savior, the second Adam. And then, as we have experienced the Bread from Heaven, we are to share the message of His true nature and sacrifice. "In Adam all die, so in Y'shua all will be made alive," 1 Corinthians 15:22. Will you share the true Bread from Heaven with your friends and family? Will you dare to accept this truth?
