291_apps_graphicROCK Cares appears on Let Liberty Ring today at 11 a.m.!

Tune in to Let Liberty Ring with Bryan Wickens and Mike Becht today at 11 a.m. for an update from ROCK Cares volunteer Bill Womack on the "IN GOD WE TRUST" special license plate coming to a Kentucky highway near you. You can listen to the show online at www.letlibertyring.com or on News/Talk 1570 AM.

ROCK Cares is working to collect the necessary 900 applications for the state to put the plate into production. It currently has 291. Please note that this plate will not be available in your county clerk's office until 900 applications have been collected. Your application today could help make the plate available by the time you have to renew your license plate registration.

Applying for this specialty plate has never been easier! The state requires a $25 deposit with your application, which can now be paid online with a credit card at www.rockcaresfoundation.org. This deposit will be returned to you from the state once all 900 applications are collected in the form of a voucher redeemable at your local county clerk's office.

You may also download an application, which simply asks for your name & address, and mail it in with a $25 check made payable to the ROCK Cares Foundation. The address is 1717 Alliant Ave, Suite 21A, Louisville, KY 40299. If you have any questions, please contact Rachel at 297-9892 or rloy@myrocktoday.org

There are several things you can do to help us spread the word about the plate - commit to collect 5 applications from others, introduce ROCK to other like-minded groups, and promote the plate on facebook. We cannot make this plate happen without your help! Thank you!

Buyer Beware: Check used gaming systems

Yet another child has been exposed to boys_playing_video_gamep*rnography through a used video game system. Although most retailers have a policy to wipe clean the content of previous users, it's always a good idea to take the extra steps so that a family is safe instead of sorry.

WMC-TV recommends the following questions be asked when purchasing a used video game system from anyone, including retailers:

  • Have you checked the console's system settings?
  • Have you checked the storage?
  • Have you checked the memory unit (cards and sticks)?
  • Have you deleted player profiles?
