Supreme Court hears broadcast indecency case
Family_watching_televisionFor more than 30 years, the FCC has regulated the content of broadcast television to keep indecency off the airwaves when children are watching, but that may soon come to an end. Earlier this week, the Supreme Court considered the issue of if it is unconstitutional to have restrictions on speech for broadcasters when their counterparts in cable and on the Internet are exempt from FCC regulation. The FCC wants to continue to regulate and penalize indecent programming on broadcast television so that there is a "safe haven" for families who do not want profanity and nudity coming into their homes. Read more.

One columnist for Forbes predicts that with no regulation of content and in too short of time, broadcasters will go straight to the lowest common denominator and eventually start showing p*rn.

Indiana Senate passes new human trafficking bill
Sad_boy_brick_wallThe Indiana legislature is considering an updated human trafficking law that would expand the definition to include any arrangement of forced s*xual activity. It would also close loopholes which currently allow some forms of human trafficking to go unprosecuted.

This week the bill passed the Senate unanimously, and now waits for action in the House. Officials are hoping to pass the legislation prior to the nation's biggest s*x trafficking event coming to Indianapolis on Feb. 5 - the Super Bowl.

ROCK Cares "In God We Trust" license plate!

We want to make the ROCK Cares license plate available to all of citizens in the Commonwealth in 2012! For this to happen, ROCK Cares will need to collect the 900 applications necessary for the production and distribution of the pictured "IN GOD WE TRUST" license plate. We are about 30 percent of the way there. Will you help us reach our goal so this plate can be available to all Kentucky drivers?

One quick way you can share the word with others is to like our ROCKCares: In God We Trust license plate page on facebook!

Act today by downloading the application to share with friends, family and groups with whom you are associated. Encourage them to fill it out and mail it with a $25 check made payable to the ROCK Cares Foundation. The address is ROCK Cares Foundation, 1717 Alliant Ave., Suite 21A, Louisville, KY 40299. For answers to your questions, please click here or contact the ROCK Cares office at (502) 297-9841.
