Mary Ann GramigBy now I'm sure you've heard the fantastic news that the ROCK Cares "In God We Trust" specialty license plate has been approved by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet! There is much excitement across the Commonwealth as evidenced by the calls and emails of support and congratulations. Thank you for your efforts to bring this plate to highways across Kentucky!

As soon as 900 applications are collected the state will begin production of the plate and distribute them to county clerks' offices. To be one of the first 900 to receive this very special "IN GOD WE TRUST" license plate, please download  the application form, fill it out and mail it with a $25 check made payable to the ROCK Cares Foundation. The address is ROCK Cares Foundation, 1717 Alliant Ave., Suite 21A, Louisville, KY 40299.

Here's where you can be of tremendous help! Please download and print out the application to share with friends, family and groups with whom you are associated. Each license plate requested will require a separate application but one check may be used to pay the fee. For example, the Smith family has three cars. Three applications will be printed and filled out with one check for $75 ($25x3 license plates) written to ROCK Cares Foundation and mailed to the above address. Once 900 applications have been collected and submitted, the process to have the plates available to motorists will take approximately 90 days. Our goal is to collect 900 applications as soon as possible so that the plate will be available by Nov. 1. Will you help make that goal a reality? Please submit your application today!

The actual cost of the plate is $44, of which the ROCK Cares Foundation can receive $10 to support projects and programs. As one of the first 900 applicants, your $25 fee will be applied to the specialty license plate fee. Once your application is submitted by ROCK Cares to the Kentucky Transportation Department, the state will send a voucher through the mail. A personalized specialty plate may be requested at your local county clerk's office for an additional $25.

Thank you again for helping us cross the finish line! The sooner we collect 900 applications, the sooner we will see "In God We Trust" proudly displayed on vehicles across the state and bring much needed assistance to those exploited by the s*x industry, especially victimized women and children.

Ask Louisville Metro Council to enforce the law!
Louisville Metro citizens have already celebrated a great victory in their efforts to protect their neighborhoods and families. The last court challenge to the comprehensive s*xually oriented business ordinance failed when the United States Supreme Court refused to entertain arguments against the positive ruling issued by the Kentucky State Supreme Court. However, just as enforcement should have already begun, all of that hard work is in danger of being undone by a hidden backroom deal. Attorneys for s*x businesses impacted by the new regulations have petitioned the city for mediation after just the first round of enforcement. Unfortunately, rather than move forward in the best interest of families and children with enforcement of its constitutionally sound regulations, Metro officials have agreed to work out a deal with the s*x industry.

No good to Louisville families can come from any watering down of this law. This ordinance is the law of the land. As a citizen are you allowed to pick and chose what laws you will or will not follow? Immediately contact your Louisville Metro council member and ask that the full Louisville Metro adult entertainment business ordinance be enforced and that no special agreements be made. Proactive citizens are the reason there has been victory in this matter. You have been involved in this process every step by making your voices heard. No backroom deal should derail your accomplishments! Please call 311 or find your council member here. Tell your council member that you want Metro to fully enforce the ordinance in its entirety for the protection of your children and family. Remember to be polite and respectful and please let us know your council member's response to your call. The number for the ROCK office is (502) 297-9892.
