Why Do These Spots Keep Re-Appearing?
Spots may reappear on carpet for several reasons. The most immediate reason involves a process called wicking. Soil wicking can be caused by a heavy accumulation of residue at the base of the carpet yarns. As the carpet dries, the soil hidden at the base of the fibers is drawn back upward toward the surface. In this case the best way to combat the stain is:
- Extra vacuuming in the area before hand to remove as much of that soil as possible
- After Spot cleaning, rinse the area thoroughly to remove any residue from your cleaning agent
- Use a weighted towel or other absorbent material to collect the residue as it wicks to the surface during drying.
This can also be an issue if whatever soil was embedded in the carpet, soaked through the fibers and into the backing or padding. The surface may appear clean after the servicing, but that residual soil which can't be attacked from above may wick its way back up as the carpet dries. Repeat attacking of the stain is necessary in this case.

Other approaches may be necessary as well. If a spot keeps re-appearing after several attempts at the above procedures, try using a damp towel and wipe across the spot till the soil is absorbed into the towel. This process removes the chance for wicking to occur.
So, in conclusion, if you attempt the above steps and you are still having problems call us. We will try to help you figure it out or it just may need professional help. I hope you found this article helpful. If you have, why not forward it to a friend?

Christmas
He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree. Roy L. Smith Do they still make wooden Christmas Trees? Charles Schulze
It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air. W. T. Ellis Christmas - that magic blanket that wraps itself about us, that something so intangible that it is like a fragrance. It may weave a spell of nostalgia. Christmas may be a day of feasting, or of prayer, but always it will be a day of remembrance - a day in which we think of everything we have ever loved. Augusta E. Rundel

In The Spotlight
In this edition of in the spotlight I am going to help you prevent a stain instead of telling you how to attempt to remove one.
Each year, Christmas comes and goes. People put up their trees and then after the holiday, people take down their tree. And when people are taking down their trees, our phone starts ringing.
People start calling us because they found one more present under their tree- a stain in the carpet, that didn't used to be there. They were watering their tree and never noticed that the tree stand was leaking.
Now they have a stain in the carpet and it can be a real tough one to get out. Usually there are 3 main things causing the stain: 1. Sap from the tree 2. Red or green dye from the tree blanket 3. Prolonged wetness browns out the carpet fibers
So here is what I reccommend to prevent this:
Before you bring the tree home fold an old sheet or blanket into quarters and place it where you intend to install the tree in the room. Then cut or fold a plastic tablecloth and place it over the blanket. Fill your Christmas tree stand with water and check for leaks. If you have found none, then add the Christmas tree stand and then everything will be ready for when you have picked that perfect tree. Christmas tree stands are usually made of plastic and crack very easily especially if they have been subjected to extreme temperatures like most attic environments create. So even if there is no leak before you use the stand, the stress of holding up a tree for 2-4 weeks could easily create a hairline fracture that could spring an undetected leak.
