I hope you are enjoying our e-newsletter. I know that it may be a bit of a change to have your newsletter delivered to you electronically but I think that it is so much more fun to read. I am so excited because there is so much more that I can give you with a web based newsletter that I couldn't give you in print. For instance you can watch video demonstrations of the services we offer. In The Spot-Light will now be a video demonstration. You can more easily keep track of our newsletter and never lose one so that you have all those great recipes literally at your fingertips. Or... you can visit our newsletter archive section and pull up any newsletter that you are looking for. Also, you can see some really great before and after photos that I would have loved to have shown you before but could never afford the printing of. And best of all you can still print our newsletter off if you feel that works best for you. Thank you for being patient and working through this change with us. |

Grandma's Goodies
 Kielbasa and Sauerkraut This is a favorite that I grew up with. My grandmother was polish and at our family gatherings I ate a lot of kielbasa and pirogues.
- Chop one sweet onion. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and brown onion in deep pan. Brown till the bottom of pan is sticky and brown
- Add 2 16 oz. cans of sauerkraut. DO NOT DRAIN. Use the sauerkraut to clean sticky onion residue off the bottom and sides of the pan.
- Slice a ring of kielbasa into discs that are a 1/4 inch thick. Add kielbasa to the sauerkraut and onions. Add 2 tsp. of ground black pepper.
- Simmer on low for 2 hours till kielbasa discs are cupped.
The key to this dish having the right flavor is browning the onions almost to the point of burning them. Feel free to call if you have any questions, I have made this dish a hundred times. |
