A MESSAGE FROM THE WIN CHAIR .....
Over the past twelve years CAWA has connected
women locally and globally, organizing women
from Arcata
to
Uganda,
Pixley to
Afghanistan,
Missouri
to the Philippines
In celebration of these women's
voices and of our
achievements - and to
underscore the importance of the 2008
election year, WIN invites you to a festive
event at the Delancey Street Town Hall In San
Francisco at 6:00 PM on November 2nd.
Please
plan to
come and meet the many women and supportive
men who believe in grassroots social change
and enjoy music and delicacies from
around the world. See our website
for registration information or contact the
WIN office at
415-221-4841, win@win-cawa.
I look forward to seeing you
there!
Peace, Elahe Amani, Chair, WIN Board of
Directors

CONNECTING WOMEN ACROSS CULTURES FOR COLLECTIVE ACTION
|
|
|
Women's
Intercultural Network - WIN - is an
international non-profit organization,
consultative to the UN, based in
San Francisco, California, that links women
and girls across cultures, locally and
globally for collective action on common
critical concerns.
WIN's mission is to ensure that the voices of all
women and girls are heard by providing
opportunities for the voices of our sisters
who have not been able to participate in
public policy forums. We work on the ground
and on the Internet!
Locally, WIN
coordinates the California
Women's Agenda (CAWA), a million women
network that organizes - not an organization
that networks.
Nationally, CAWA is a
partner
with other state hubs in US Women Connect
(USWC), the national women's action
network that serves as anchor for the US
Women's Agenda and links to the global
women's agenda.
Globally, WIN connects women and girls
through CALLING
the CIRCLE, our
ground-breaking program that is currently
linking women from the U.S., Afghanistan,
Uganda, Japan among other countries for full
participation in Democracy.
CAWA, USWC
and CALLING the CIRCLE are ways in which WIN
is working to implement the Beijing Platform
of Action, the document created from the 4th
United Nations Conference on Women, 1995, and
reaffirmed by 189 nations in March, 2005.
