CAWA Heading
Action Alert
January 2006

We are poised on the threshold of a New Year that may well be the most challenging one of our lives.

WE WISH YOU A YEAR OF PEACE, PROSPERITY, HEALTH AND HAPPINESS.

But we need more than wishes to make it so. We call on you to TAKE ACTION in 2006 to help stop the almost daily assaults on the gains that were made over decades of global struggle to end inequality, poverty and violence.

We thank all of you for the support you have given to the Women's Intercultural Network (WIN) and the California Women's Agenda (CAWA) in implementing the global action plan adopted ten years ago by 189 countries at the 4th International Conference on Women in Beijing, China. We have made many gains but are in danger of losing them if we fail to continue to mobilize and act.

Renew your support for 2006 and encourage other organizations and individuals to become a part of our ever- expanding network - dedicated to making sure the voices of women and girls are heard on the critical issues facing the world.

CAWA
CAWA Logo

CAWA is a state action alliance of over 600 organizations in California, working together to implement the Beijing Platform at the grassroots. CAWA is linking one million women and girls in collective action through real and "virtual" networks.

CAWA is a network that is organizing - not an organization that is networking.

CAWA is a project of the Women's Intercultural Network. WIN is an international non-profit organization, consultative to the United Nations, based in San Francisco, CA. that links women and girls across cultures, locally and globally for collective action on common concerns.
