WIN a dev kit - Microchip speeds development of graphical and Touch-Sense designs with 32-bit MCUs
Microchip Technology has announced two new development tools for adding advanced human interfaces to PIC32, 32-bit microcontroller-based designs. The Multimedia Expansion Board enables development of highly interactive, graphics-based interfaces with network connectivity. The enhanced mTouchTM Cap Touch Evaluation Kit adds a new board for implementing capacitive touch sensing with the PIC32.
 
SIMcom replace SIM300 series with new SIM900 series
Continuing with the developments of chipset technology to include further integrated features, upgraded performance and smaller size, Simcom are now offering a more competitive solution with the new SIM900 platform. ACAL are proud to inform you that Simcom's new SIM900 series modules are ready and now in mass production.
 
Request limited samples - ACAL Technology announces sub-miniature, surface-mount crystals for space-constrained applications
ACAL Technology announces the availability of new sub-miniature surface-mount crystals which support the growing demand for stable and accurate RF clocking in portable or handheld wireless and other space-constrained applications. The ACT2016SMX-4 and ACT2205SMX-4 crystals from Advanced Crystal Technology (ACT) and ACAL Technology meet the growing demand for crystals which can provide enhanced long-term stability in ultra-compact packages.
 
Request limited samples - GSI Cut High-Speed SRAM Lead-Times
ACAL Technology is offering high speed SRAM using a unique manufacturing process which will enable OEMs and CEMs to cut current lead-times of 18 to 35 weeks, from other vendors, to just 8 to 14 weeks for the second-source GSI alternatives. GSI's unique ExactPreferenceTM manufacturing process, enables ACAL Technology to achieve short lead-times on the complete range of GSI high-speed SRAM, which features the industry's widest range of speeds, up to 350MHz as well as the lowest static and dynamic power consumption.

Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (AMCC) changed it's name and brand logo in November 2009. The intention was to reflect their drive for breakthrough energy efficiency and cost optimised semiconductor devices to move the company into new growth markets.
 
ADLINK Technology opens Shanghai Operations Centre 
ADLINK Technology has announced the grand opening of their Shanghai Operations Centre (SHOC), located in Shanghai, China. The SHOC represents ADLINK's single most significant investment in their 15 year history. This successful opening further demonstrates ADLINK's world-class capabilities in the industrial computing industry. The goal of establishing the SHOC is to provide ADLINK with a first-rate operations centre, for which countless resources were utilised for the architectural design and interior layout of the centre.
 
Exclusive - GSM/GPRS Remote Data-Logging System Article (Electronics World) 
A recent article in Electronics World Issue 1888 features a detailed description of a microcontroller-based remote data logger by Dogan Ibrahim, a lecturer at the Near East University Cyprus. The standalone system uses the SIM340Z module manufactured by SIMCOM and the Microchip PIC16F887.
