OCT 8th is the 4th Annual District A Arts & Music Festival
Every year, on the 2nd SAT in October, District A celebrates our neighborhoods with a "progressive" party, from 10 AM to 10 PM, along Montgomery Road through Kennedy Heights/Pleasant Ridge.
The Family Party begins at Kennedy Heights Arts Center, 6546 Montgomery, with a free Children's Art Studio, while adults explore the Guild Shop and CLICK-7 exhibit, from 10 AM to 1 PM.
Move on to the Ridge Pavilion, 6142 Montgomery, for one-of-a-kind gift-buying from dozens of local artists at the Art Show and Sale, from Noon to 5 PM. Enjoy music on the hour by Serenity Fisher, John Miller and The Friendly Muttonchops, and a variety of food selections from TAZ, Caf de Wheels and Mother's Touch Cakes!
A Community Block Party closes out the Festival at All Saints Episcopal Church, 6301 Parkman Place, off Montgomery Road, from 5 to 10 PM. Party inside and out with many of the local artists who make District A possible. Exhibiting are Nancy Nordloh Neville, Bruce Neville and Kathi Folsom Blake. Dine by-the-bite throughout evening and enjoy the sounds of FO MO Brothers, Jamie Steele & John Scheiding, Four Square Jack, and Those Guys.
District A is a catalyst for community development and ongoing collaboration through the arts that's creating a new future for Kennedy Heights/Pleasant Ridge. District A is not your ordinary arts district; here, the artists live and work and raise their families. Local artists' creativity and volunteerism make the annual Arts & Music Festival a real community success.
