Farmers Market Conversation Café This Weekend |
 |
The folks from Citizens for Civic Renewal (CCR) are hosting a Farmers Market Conversation Café at the Kennedy Heights Farmers Market (Green Corner - 6524 Montgomery Rd.) this Saturday from 10-1.
Come and meet representatives from various Kennedy Heights organizations who will be there to talk up their groups with residents from the area.
Most vendors offer nourishment for the body or satisfaction of that need for beauty through local arts/crafts. We offer nourishment for the heart, a chance for each to make the community they desire. We have little café tables & chairs in shade, where people can rest from shopping, maybe sip that cold lemonade they just purchased; and talk to people from their neighborhood or our volunteers about what's happening. For example, you could meet a neighbor that just started a Safety & Livability Committee and they LOVE your idea for a gardening exchange where seeds, plant clippings and compost are shared. Or, you find out that some company from Georgia just purchased the empty lot over on the next street and they're scheduled to speak at the next community council about their plans.

Outdoor Movie Night This Saturday! |
 |
The Kennedy Heights Community Council is proud to bring the community a FREE outdoor movie night on Saturday August 28 at the entrance to Drake Park. The movie this year will be the Academy Award winning animated film "Up".
The Movie will begin at dusk (around 8:30-8:45 pm) on a giant inflatable screen and there will be cartoons shown prior to the stare of the movie.
There will also be concessions for sale so you can enjoy popcorn with your movie! Last year we had around 75 people attend and it would be great if we could double that number this year. There's plenty of room on the lawn to bring your family, your neighbors and your friends! And did I mention it's FREE!
A big Thank You goes out to Michele Dragga and Cincinnati Parks for coordinating this event for us! Bring the family and a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the last days of summer in one of Kennedy Heights' beautiful parks.

Progressive Dinner Right Around the Corner! |
 |
It's time for the 27th Annual Kennedy Heights Community Council Progressive Dinner! If you have never been before, this is THE event not to miss in Kennedy Heights! There will be over 125 people spending a fun evening sharing great food and entertainment with wonderful neighbors.
We will begin the evening together at 5:30 on Saturday, September 25, 2010 with wonderful appetizers. When you arrive you will be greeted with great food, music, and drinks and will register for the next stop which will be dinner at a host family's home. Each host family will have between 6-12 people at their home for dinner. The small number allows for great conversation and a fantastic opportunity to get to know a few people/neighbors a little better. Following dinner, everyone will get back together at The Kennedy Heights Presbyterian Church for homemade desserts and even a silent auction!
This is The Kennedy Heights Community Council's biggest fundraiser of the year. Tickets are $25 per person and include all you can eat and drink, or until everything is gone. The silent auction will include gift certificates, gift baskets, and much, much more!!!!
If you would like to serve as a host/hostess at your home for dinner, please contact Lydia Morgan at 631-7289 or lydiajm@fuse.net. If you would like to donate a dessert, make a donation for the silent auction, reserve tickets or for more information on the event, please contact Natalie Boyer at 324-6534 or Natalie@kennedyheights.org. Tickets can also be purchased through any Board Member, through Bob Kamp or through the PayPal link at www.kennedyheights.org.
