    Our neighborhood's New Look

After years of planning by a number of Kennedy Heights residents, our new welcome signs can be spotted at several locations throughout the neighborhood.

The signs feature the logo that was first introduced at the 2008 Progressive Dinner; a refreshed version of Kennedy Heights' classic "Yin Yang" design that has served the community for many years signifying the racial harmony that has long been a hallmark of the neighborhood. The design was created by Kennedy Heights resident Erik Brown.

A committee including past community council president Ernie Barbeau, current vice-president Clete Benken and webmaster Rick Boyer have been working with various Staff members of the City of Cincinnati to shepherd the installation of the signs.

The signs can be found at the following locations: NE corner of the intersection of Kennedy Ave. and Congreve Ave., on Red Bank Rd. Just north of Drake Park, on Woodford Rd. very near Benken's Garden Center, at the NE corner of Kennedy Ave. and Aikenside Ave., on the SW corner of Plainfield Rd. and Zinsle Ave., and two signs on Montgomery, the SE corner of Montgomery Rd. and Orchard Ln. and a sign across from the Kroger/Furniture Fair site.

Many thanks go to all of those who saw these projects through to completion. With the new Kennedy Heights Cultural Center and other great things happening, this new look shows how our neighborhood is "moving up" in the world!
