The Second Annual Hidden Treasures Garden Tour |

Did you know the communities of Pleasant Ridge and
Kennedy Heights are hosts to some of the most
beautiful private and public gardens in the city? Join
us for family friendly self-guided tour of those hidden
treasures on Sunday, June 27, 2010 from 12pm-
4pm.
Tickets are $10 for adults and free for children under
age 18.The cost of a ticket includes tours of 10
gardens, light refreshments and a detailed tour map.
Tour check-in and same day ticket sales will be at the
Kennedy Heights Arts Center, 6546 Montgomery Rd.
on Sunday, June 27, 2010 from 11:30am-3pm.
Advance tickets are to be picked up at the check-in on
Sunday-no tickets will be mailed.
All proceeds from this event will go towards the Giving
Garden a newly established non-profit organization
whose mission is to reclaim the blighted property at
the rear of the Green Corner located at 6523 Tyne
Avenue in Kennedy Heights. The Giving Garden will
beautify the property and offer educational gardening
classes to local residents. A major effort for 2010 will
be raising the funds to enable installation of themed
raised beds with wheel chair accessibility. The Giving
Garden is committed to raising awareness of the
importance of environmental balance and this core
value will feature prominently in all their planned
educational seminars and workshops. For more

It's time again to celebrate the many beautiful homes
in our Neighborhood with the Kennedy Heights
Landscape Awards.

Soapbox Derby 2010 |

We're still looking for a driver and adult helper for the
Kennedy Heights entry in the Mayor's Cup Soapbox
Derby.
The
derby draws racers ages 8 to 60 from all over the tri
state area for one fun Saturday in June. The ultimate
goal of the Mayor's Cup is to have all 52
neighborhoods participating with the top community
council's taking home large cash prizes. Last year the
winning community council received $5,000. This is a
fun, family friendly event that brings individuals from a
community together.
To participate a neighborhood must find a driver
between the ages of 8-13 that lives in the
neighborhood and they must have an approved
soapbox derby car. The race will be held June 19th
and the registration fee is $50. Please mention the
derby at your April community council meetings. If you
are interested in participating or purchasing a car

The Green Corner is featuring the Kunken Gallery with
this Month's Exhibition: "Pause, Collect"Mixed Media in
Collages, Prints and Paintings featuring the work of
Alison Shepherd and Cynthia Gregory. These two
local, dynamic young artists are taking Cincinnati by
storm with their spectacular, fresh artistic
talents.
The Gallery will open every Saturday from 10:00a.m.
until 1:00p.m. with a different artist every
month.
The Kunken Galley is managed by Cyd Alper-
Sedgwick, Principal of the Kunken Collection
consisting of a variety of services including interior
design, Feng Shui consultations and Life
Coaching. -----------------------------

Renewal are holding a all city meeting on Saturday,
June 5th, from 9 to noon. This will be the final
opportunity for you to weigh in with your fellow citizens
before the results of the entire effort are presented to
the City of Cincinnati Finance Committee for

---------- Senior Minister for the Kennedy Heights
Church of Christ, John Edmerson reports the church
will be hosting a Summer Day Camp from June 1,
2010 - July 23, 2010. The community is invited to
participate. Cost is $49 per week. They will do all of
the normal things that a Day Camp does plus they're
going to have daily bible study and chapel. Attached is
a registration packet. --------------------
