    Has everyone had enough winter? Thought so! Hold on, because spring HAS to arrive soon! In the meantime, here are some of the happenings in Kennedy Heights.

    Unfortunatly, the February meeting of the Kennedy Heights Community Council was canceled due to weather, so be sure and join us for the next meeting on Tuesday, March 16th.

    There is always a lot of information to gather, and a great chance to get to know your neighbors.

    So, come get involved in your community!

    District A presents... WORLD of WONDER

    Created & Performed by international artist Leland Faulkner.
    Like its creator, World of Wonder amazes audiences of all ages around the globe.

    For thirty years, Leland Faulkner has shaped unique art forms from his global life experiences. Born in Afghanistan to Native American parents, Leland Faulkner spent his childhood in Tanzania, East Africa, and now lives and teaches in Maine.

    Tickets sales at the door: $5/adults; no charge for children under 14.

    Accessible venues - free parking - All generations are welcome! Celebrated International Artists Close to Home Brought to our community by Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, In partnership with District A, the arts collaboration of Kennedy Heights and Pleasant Ridge.

    Knitting and Crochet Workshop at the Arts Center

    Sunday, March 14 @ 3-5 pm

    Instructor Sally Dickson leads this fun, hands-on introduction to knitting and crocheting. Learn basic techniques and make your own inspired creation. All ages are welcome - a great activity for parents and children to do together!

    ------------------------------------------------------------------ Artist-in-Residence Voss Finn
    April 5 - 30
    Participate in a community sculpture project for all ages!

    This spring, we are excited about hosting amazing Cincinnati sculptor Voss Finn for a 4-week Artist Residency from April 5 - 30. Voss' practice of using discarded objects to create sculptural pieces allows for an enormous amount of artistic exploration and discovery. During his residency, Voss will work with residents of all ages to create an outdoor sculptural installation on the Arts Center's grounds.

    Meet Voss Finn and learn more about the project at a special welcoming reception on Sunday, March 14 from 1-3 pm. Or see class times with Voss here. This project is funded by grants from the Ohio Arts Council and The NLT Foundation, so participation is free! But you must pre-register as class sizes are limited.

    Sunday Jazz Jam Sessions at Ballet Tech

    The Jam Sessions, held the third Sunday of each month from 6-9 PM, are open to the public, and offer a unique opportunity for jazz musicians of all ages and skill levels.

    Musicians can participate as performers or simply observe skilled jazz musicians in action. Also, audience members can enjoy great jazz music from a variety of performers in a relaxed, family oriented, smoke-free/alcohol free environment!
    The house band consists of the trombonist Professor Spira (a.k.a. N. Michael Goecke), drummer Brother Air (a.k.a. Willie Smart), bassist Eddie Brookshire, and saxophonist/keyboardist Ryan Wells (Daktehu).
    $5 entry. Refreshments will be for sale

    The Pleasant Ridge Community Center is pleased to serve Kennedy Heights as well! And CRC is having free memberships for the month of February! Did you know that so much FUN was right down the street? Here is what is happening for the winter:

    A sure sign of spring's arrival is the influx of potholes! An update from the city:
    Reporting Potholes
    While City employees identify a large number of potholes, our Citizens have proven to be very helpful in identifying and reporting potholes found on our City streets

    The best way to ensure that a gets repaired in a timely manner in the City of Cincinnati is to call our customer service line and report them.

    Our customer service Center is staffed Monday through Friday form 7:00AM  7:00PM. The number is 591-6000.

    Descriptive information helps crews identify and respond quickly to requests for service
    How deep and how wide?
    Is it near the northbound curb lane, or the middle of the road?
    What is the nearest intersection or street address?
    Is this pothole creating a hazardous situation?

    Welcome to Larry L. Harris, pastor and The Word Fellowship Church. Currently, the church has relocated from Avondale to Kennedy Heights, and are leasing the building property of the Bread of Life Church at 5902 Robison Rd. in Kennedy Heights. Presently, they predominantly occupy the space and operate all of their services at the building, while Bread of Life Church continues to own the property and use it for administrative meetings.

    Stay tuned for more information about Kennedy Heights annual Spring event, the Sap Brunch. This year's fun will take place on Saturday, April 24th.

    Upcoming meetings

    The Kennedy Heights Community Council next meeting will take place Tuesday, March 16th 2010. Come and find out all of the great things happening in our community.

    The Board of directors meeting is held immediatly prior to the Council meeting beginning at 6pm
