Neighborhood Movie Night At Drake Park This Saturday |
 |
Drake Park (5800 Red Bank Rd) will be the
site of a unique event this weekend as a
little bit of Hollywood comes to Kennedy
Heights. Join the Kennedy Heights Community
Council and the Cincinnati Park Board for
Mayor Mallory's
Neighborhood Movie Night on Saturday
August 22nd.
A huge, inflatable movie screen will be set up
in the park and the feature will be the
family film "Madagascar 2". The movie will
start at dusk (between 8:00 & 9:00). Mayor
Mallory will be there to shake hands. Poppy's
Flavored Ice will be selling concessions, but
people are welcome to bring their own food as
well as a lawn chair or blanket.
This
special event is free and open to the public.

A Note From Brandon |
 |
"Greetings from your Neighborhood Networker.
My name is Brandon and I've been working
behind the scenes to help make contact with
new Kennedy Heights Residents as well
existing residents who may not be aware of
Kennedy Heights' Organizations.
My
task has
been to help broaden the approach to KH
residents including:
young professional groups, community groups,
arts groups, youth groups, church groups,
dedicated families and community concerned
citizens. You may have seen me at some point
at the Kennedy Heights Community Council
Office at the corner of Kennedy & Montgomery.
During the past few months I have
learned
much about our diverse community and even
more about non-profit work! I believe
Kennedy Heights has much to offer it's
residents.
I will continue to work
with the
Kennedy Heights board and the residents to
find committees, opportunities and concerns
that you have.
Some of the things I have done already to
meet this goal include:
- Designing a Kennedy Heights Brochure &
Direct Mail Piece
- Designing event fliers
- Creating Facebook Organization Profiles
(19 fans!),
- Administering a Twitter Organization
Accounts (20 followers!)
- Providing neighborhood data and research
- Evaluating neighborhood interests
- Providing feedback to Kennedy Heights
Board for discussion
- Making contact with groups that have
community centered programs and events
- Maintaining the Kennedy Heights Community
Office
- Originating other valuable marketing and
PR collateral
Over the next month you will observe my
latest effort which is a flier announcing the
26th Annual Progressive Dinner. I will be
supplying local businesses, offices,
libraries, churches and organizations with
fliers that detail Progressive Dinner
information. Our hope is to reach record
numbers for this year so make sure you come
out and support us! If you have not yet had
an opportunity to attend this event, make
this year your first. Well I'm back to work
now, if you see me in the neighborhood give
me a honk to show your support!"
