  • Greetings!

We're in the home stretch for summer. But before everyone gets back to school and into the fall routine, there are several special events taking place in Kennedy Heights.

Extra Special Event To Be Held At Drake Park

Drake Park (5800 Red Bank Rd) will be the site of a unique event this weekend as a little bit of Hollywood comes to Kennedy Heights. Join the Kennedy Heights Community Council and the Cincinnati Park Board for Mayor Mallory's Neighborhood Movie Night on Saturday August 8th.

A huge, inflatable movie screen will be set up in the park and the feature will be the family film "Madagascar 2". The movie will start at dusk (between 8:00 & 9:00). Mayor Mallory will be there to shake hands. Poppy's Flavored Ice will be selling concessions, but people are welcome to bring their own food as well as a lawn chair or blanket.

This special event is free and open to the public.

District A presents "All Shades of Green"

District A invites you to the first-ever collaboration among our three Kennedy Heights ARTS VENUES - your best opportunity to see them all and see your neighbors, too! It's All Shades of Green , and it takes place Saturday, AUG 8th, from 4 - 8 pm.

1 Green Corner Studios and Marketplace hosts All Shades of Green Art Show & Sale to capture green in all its finest forms. You'll also find an exhibit by local artist Mary Barr Rhodes at the Green Corner's new Kunken Gallery.

2 ballet tech cincinnati offers outdoor foods + acoustic, rock and jazz on the hour.

3 Kennedy Heights Art Center, with FUNKe Fired Arts, invites all of us to throw pots; dig up local clay and fire it fast using Japanese raku style pit firing. Inside and out, you'll experience the juried exhibition, EARTH 2009, curated by local artist Bob Kling.

Come early and green and enjoy it all.

There will be a special child identity booth, and The Greater Cincinnati Police Museum will provide a special display of its collection. Thanks to our wonderful supporters such as Target and Duke Energy we will have:

Green Corner Market A Weekly Treat

Final Kennedy Heights Night Out this Weekend

Kennedy Heights Nights Out will have it's final event of the summer on Saturday August 8th, 6-8 pm in the Tot Lot playground at Zinsle and Red Bank.

There will be plenty of food and drink for all-grilled hot dogs, metts, chips, cake, brownies, fruit cups and even ice cream treats! Best of all, it's all free. There will be T-Shirts on sale for $5.00, so you can show your community pride!

These annual events occur because volunteers bring food, grill and serve anyone who stops by. It wouldn't be surprising to find a hundred or more neighbors coming through! Citizens on Patrol sponsor the nights out, and the police make a presence that is impressive! It makes a great way for the community to communicate with the police. Youngsters and oldsters alike coming to the event can expect to play ball, ride bikes & scooters, dance and even play corn hole toss. There might even be prizes for the high score! All in all, it's a great time because Young and old come together for an evening of fun.

Just an evening to get the community together! All are welcome! No charge!! Just come and bring a neighbor! Sponsored by: Community Problem-Oriented Policing (CPOP) and other nonprofit community organizations
