There is always lots of good information and things to learn about your neighborhood at our monthy meetings.

tentatively scheduled is a presentation by folks from our host, the Kennedy Heights Presbyterian Church, celebrating their 100th anniversary this year.

    Thank You Ernie!

After several years and countless hours of community service Ernie Barbeau has turned over his post as President of Kennedy Heights Community Council. Ernie has made our community's interests his single professional focus and full-time job and has left us a tremendous legacy of accomplishments during his tenure:

    • The re-establishment of the Kennedy Heights Urban Redevelopment Corporation
    • The New logo and branding concept for our community which will be soon seen on welcome signs.
    • An increase in volunteerism, with ongoing great attendance at events such as the sap run and progressive dinner.
He is looking forward to spending much more quality time with his lovely bride Judy. Ernie will remain involved through his service as President of the Kennedy Heights Urban Redevelopment Corporation. It is with sincere appreciation that we wish them the best for many years of blissful retirement on Kinoll Avenue.

Positively 90: Interviews with Lively Nonagenarians
    Jan. 24 - March 14

Inspired by her mother's dementia, artist Connie Springer asked herself "do we all end up like this if we live long enough?" After the course of two years photographing and meeting with twenty-eight nonagenarians, Connie has learned that despite losses and hardships, these 90-year olds continue to actively participate in their surroundings and maintain an interest in others. They broaden their horizons, think in terms of purpose and goals, care about others, and keep their minds and bodies in shape with exercise and stimulating pastimes.

Connie Springer has assembled an exhibition of photographs and narrative of this Positively 90 generation, supported by a City of Cincinnati Individual Artist's Grant. This work will be on display on the second floor gallery and conference room at the Kennedy Heights Arts Center from January 24 - March 14, 2009. A public reception will be held on Saturday, January 24 from 6 - 8 pm.

    Ballettech Cincinnati

All auditions will be held at the ballet tech cincinnati world headquarters in Kennedy Heights, 6543 Montgomery Road. Dancers should bring ballet, jazz, tap or pointe shoes, if qualified. Rehearsals will start in mid February.

Don't forget about Ballet tech's monthly Jazz Jam Sessions on the third Sunday of each month. The Jam Sessions are open to the public, and offer a unique opportunity for jazz musicians of all ages and skill levels. Musicians participate as performers or simply observe skilled jazz musicians in action, and audience members enjoy great jazz music from a variety of performers in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Jazz Jam Sessions have become a great venue for jazz music in a no smoking/no alcohol venue that is comfortable for performers and audience members of all ages and offers professional artists, college and high school musicians a venue to perform together.

The House Band provides keyboard, drum set, amplifiers, mikes and a rhythm section for sit in musicians. Come out and enjoy the special celebration! Admission is only $5 and soft drinks, juices and snacks will be available for purchase.
