    Kennedy Heights Night Out

The Kennedy Heights CPOP (Community Problem-Oriented Policing) Team, in collaboration with our community's Churches, Community Council, and residents, will once again be presenting the Kennedy Heights Night Out.

A you'll find good food, good company, and lots of fun for young and old alike. The next of these events take place Saturday August 16th at the Kennedy Heights Tot Lot at Zinsle and Red Bank Avenues from 6 to 8PM

Please bring a school supply with you and they will be distributed to Kennedy Heights' Kids. more info at the Kennedy Heights website.

    Click! Exhibit Underway

Kennedy Heights Arts Center is rolling along with their latest exhibit, Click 2008, an exhibition devoted entirely to the medium of photography. This is our fourth year for the show featuring a diverse array of black and white, color, and digital photography.

A special feature of Click 2008 is the American Society of Media Photographers' One-and-Only Item show. This imaginative annual exhibition sponsored by ASMP originated 14 years ago and travels to several galleries in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Kennedy Heights Arts Center is honored to be one of the selected venues. Each year, photographers are challenged to create original artwork that incorporates a specific ordinary object. The item for this year's exhibition is clear packaging tape. Although every photograph must include packaging tape somehow, the results are quite varied in style and form. The Best of Show winner each year gets to pick the item for the next year's exhibition. This year's show includes the work of over 40 practicing, professional ASMP member photographers.

Click runs through September 13, 2008. Gallery hours are Saturdays 10 am - 4 pm and by appointment. For more information, please call 631-4278

Call 731-5477 to reserve a ticket

Since this year is the 25th Anniversary, we want to make it a really extra special event. If you have never been before, this is THE event in Kennedy Heights not to miss with over 125 of your neighbors gathering to spend a lovely evening together. We begin the evening together with wonderful appetizers at The Community Room of The Geier Apartments or a similar location. When you arrive you will be greeted with great food, music, and neighbors and will register for the next stop which will be dinner at a host family's home. Each host family will have between 6-12 people at their home for dinner. The small number allows for great conversation and a fantastic opportunity to get to know a few neighbors a little better. Following dinner, everyone will get back together at The Kennedy Heights Presbyterian Church for homemade desserts and a silent auction.

Tickets are now on sale, so contact any of the KHCC board members or visit Kennedyheights.org. Tickets be available online soon!

Launch of DISTRICT A (where arts and community meet)

Question: What's DISTRICT A? Answer: It's a catalyst for local collaboration and commerce through the arts.

On Saturday, October 11, come celebrate the art of city living in your own neighborhood at the all-day launch of DISTRICT A. A new citizens group-the Montgomery Corridor Arts Collaborative, or MCAC-has been busy developing DISTRICT A with the Community Councils of Kennedy Heights and Pleasant Ridge.

On October 11, as part of Cincinnati's 20/20 celebration, our community doors will be open to all. Here's what you'll enjoy along Montgomery Road between Kennedy and Losantiville Avenues.

That morning, you can walk or run District A (1 mile), or try out free dance classes at ballet tech. At noon, see the Art Show, or listen to the Adagio Trio. Afternoon options include Frisch's marionettes and music galore - from the funky sounds of Ryan Adcock, Souse, and JazzItUp to the rockin' rhythms of Tracy Walker, Mike Fair & the Adventure Seekers, and more. That evening, there's an opening at Kennedy Heights Art Center, a special sneak peak at this fall's performance of East Side West Side & Non-Vertical Girl at ballet tech, Irish fun at Molly Malone's, Ethiopian fare at Emanu, and Pleasant Ridge Chili, of course.

You'll be doin' art yourself before you say goodbye to this new and unique street festival linking Kennedy Heights and Pleasant Ridge along Montgomery Road.

The truth is we can't do it without you. We're hoping you'll lend a hand. Visit us right now at www.district-a.org. Check out specific events and times for October 11, 2008, and volunteer for the job that suits your talents and interests-you'll find one!

Want to find us in person? Phone Jathan Fink, Event Director, at 513-274-4550.

    Neighborhood Notes
