Landscape Awards |
 |
It's time again to nominate a neighbor for a
2008 Kennedy Heights Landscape Award.
This
program rewards Kennedy Heights residents who
go "above and beyond" in keeping their part
of the community beautiful.
Last year, the Landscape Awards Committee
received 24 landscape nominations through the
mail, our website, and at Council meetings.
Nominations were received from neighborhoods
north and south of Montgomery Road. The
criteria for judging the landscape nominees
is based on the color/texture, design and
maintenance. Help us celebrate those who make
our neighborhood a bit more
beautiful.

information -------------- City
Action Hotline Neighbor Greg Fittro
passes along the following:
Neighbors can
help themselves in getting potholes repaired,
storm sewer drains unclogged, and other city
and county repairs they are responsible for
by calling 591-6000. This hotline
takes care
of many of these daily nuisances, like
potholes, by taking 3 minutes to call. The
caller needs to provide the street address of
the pothole and in a couple days it will be
fixed.
Don't complain about potholes and rough rail
road tracks if people can't be part of the
solution. You may want to also include the
other services the hotline will provide.
Schedule pick-up of yard waste, furniture,
aplliances,
etc. ------------------------- KHCC
Needs YOU! KHCC needs need a CO-CHAIR
for its Beautification committee. This will
divide up the tasks of coordinating
volunteers to tend the various community
gardens and come up with creative innovations
to improve the neighborhood's appearance. The
City supports Beautification with material,
flowers, plants, trees, and clean-up
funds.
It's time for you to step up and continue our
great tradition started by citizens like Mimi
Gingold, Joyce Drake, & Joanie
Widener.
If you are interested or would like to
suggest someone, please contact Ernie
Barbeau
or Clyde
Otis or leave a message on the KHCC
Phone (531-4041).
