    Winterfest

Kennedy Heights and Pleasant Ridge's annual holiday festival - Winterfest takes place this Friday evening, Friday Dec. 7th.

It all kicks off with the tradtional tree lighting at the The Pleasant Ridge Recreation Center. The tree lighting goes from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00p.m.

The Recreation Center will be hosting activities such as childrens games, simple crafts, Connie Ferguson school of dance, refreshments, raffles and of course a visit from Santa.

The Kennedy Heights Art Center will light their tree at 8:00p.m. and have a variety of entertainment, crafts for children and refreshments. Under the big heated tent, the Nativity CODE band will entertain as will BalletTech, with selections from the Nutcracker. Also, Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church United Voices Choir will sing.

Want to take in both parts of the event? Horse drawn wagons will travel from the recreation center to the Kennedy Heights Art Center and back (free, but riders need to show their ticket).

A collection barrel for the Caring Place will be at both locations. The Caring Place is in need of toothbrushes, toothpaste, underwear and socks.
