    Kennedy Heights Progressive Dinner & Silent Auction

    It's not to late to get your tickets so you can join us on Saturday, September 15th, for the annual Kennedy Heights Progressive Dinner and Silent Auction.

    This is one event not to be missed as it features good fun and great food, and best of all, a chance to get to know residents from our community a little bit better.

    Landscape Award Winners!

    Kudos to the folks who help make our neighborhood just a little bit more beautiful by spucing up their homes. Five such families in Kennedy Heights were recently honored with our annual Kennedy Heights Landscape Awards. The winners were:

    Ballet Tech Moves Into Their New Home

    A community milestone was reached recently as ballet tech cincinnati held its first rehearsal in its new Kennedy Heights facility on Saturday, September 08, 2007.

    Their new world headquarters at 6543 Montgomery Road in the Kennedy Heights neighborhood of Cincinnati is an excellent location for the new facility. "We are right in the center of the new focus on the arts as a way to spur economic and community development in the Montgomery Road Corridor. With all the new investment in education and the arts, ballet tech cincinnati looks forward to fully participating in and helping to create new development opportunities for other arts organizations and businesses in the community.", Marvel Gentry Davis, Producing Artistic Director and President, Board of Directors said.

    KH Arts Center Fall Classes

    The Kennedy Heights Arts Center announces a full slate of classes starting in September. Highlights include:

    • DRAMA WORKSHOP "For that budding middle-school actor/actress
    • TWEEN PHOTOGRAPHY "Real Photography and Dark Room Techniques"
    • ART FOR OLDER ADULTS "Arts and Crafts for fun and leisure"
    • ADULT PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS "Photography and Dark Room Techniques"

    Help us find the 2007 Citizen of the Year!
    Each year the KHCC Board of Trustees recognizes a resident as the KHCC Citizen of the Year. The purpose of this award is to pay tribute to an individual who has made an exceptional contribution to our community.     Recycling! The CITY OF CINCINNATI is looking to increase its recycling participation rate and Kennedy Heights is one of the selected neighborhoods with great potential to increase participation in this FREE service offered by the city. Recycling has many benefits including supporting the local economy, providing jobs, and (most importantly) closing the waste stream to reduce our ecological footprint on the planet which promotes and healthy environment for you and your family.     Cincinnati Reads, a volunteer tutoring program working with K-4th students in Cincinnati Public Schools, is now recruiting tutors for the 2007-08 school year. Volunteers receive training to work one on one with children who are struggling to read. The time commitment is minimal, but the rewards are immeasurable. Learn more about the program or register for free training to become a Cincinnati Reads volunteer, by calling the Literacy Network at 513-621-7323 or emailing Jayne Martin Dressing at jdressing@lngc.org.

    KHCC Needs YOU!!

    We are eagerly looking for volunteers to join the KHCC Trustees Board as a council officer, a member at large or as a volunteer on one of our many committees.

    • We need your help to manage a budget of $28,000 to best serve this community.
    • We need your energy to help ensure we are as inclusive as possible in our activities and ourdecision making.
    • We need your expertise to promote the highest degree of competence possible in this public service opportunity.

    After a long, lazy Summer Break, the Community Council is back in action.. The Next scheduled meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 18th.
