By now you should have received by mail the August issue of

 Kennedy Heights News. If you've broken the seal & opened it, you may have noticed that most of the front page is dedicated to the Progressive Dinner.

As August winds up, September 15 is seeming much closer than it did a month ago (odd how that works). So it's time to crank things up!

We've hi-jacked the eNews mailing list to make a pitch for dinner hosts & auction items.

More Hosts Needed
At this point we have confirmed at least a dozen host families. We still need a few more.

• Never tried it? Maybe this is your year to experience the thrill of seating a few neighbors at your dining table (or on the deck, as the occasion fits).
• Tempted but cautious? Give us a chance to talk you into it--call Lydia at 631-7289.
• An old hand? You know the routine. Call / email and help fill out our host list!
  

Auction Donations
We need stuff & services to put on the block for the silent auction.

• Nice or interesting things (a cut above rummage sale condition, perhaps) that are collecting dust in your closet but might just strike a bidder's fancy
• Your own art work
• Something you can persuade your employer to donate
• Basket of goodies collected from folks on your street
• Services you can provide (I've actually sold computer lessons both computer and Swahili lessons)

The KHCC budget anticipates at least $3,000 income from the auction. To make that happen we need both donors & bidders!
