Bill

Hello, Razor Sharp Members!

My name is Bill Althaus, and I'm a funeral director at Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home in Kenosha. In my profession, I consistently partner with others at a critical, vulnerable time in their lives. Caring for people emotionally in the particular way that I do does have physical side effects. I love being with people and giving of myself; however, if I don't take care of me, I find it increasing difficult to support anyone else.

One of the ways I take care of myself is by exercising regularly. I don't work out to win awards or be the best at or most of anything; I include exercise as part of my weekly routine in order to be responsible for my overall wellness, of which physical fitness is a crucial component.

Like so many of us, I may not always look forward to going to the gym, but I am so grateful I made fitness a priority by the time I'm done. I enjoy so many of the classes at Razor Sharp, and the staff is so encouraging, motivating and supportive.

Thanks to Razor Sharp for being so welcoming and helping all of us meet our wellness needs and fitness goals.

Greetings!

  • Excellent Turnout for 1st Annual Skeleton Skamper
  • Skeleton Skamper

The sun was shining for the first annual Skeleton Skamper which was held on Saturday, October 30th here at Razor Sharp Fitness. The 5k, or 3.1 mile run, was the main event for the Skeleton Skamper, a race that many people wore costumes for. The event was organized by Real Racine which is the county's tourism and visitors bureau and managed by Kari Dawson, Real Racine's Event Manager and Razor Sharp Fitness member.

In addition to the 5k run/walk, Ruud Lighting sponsored the 1-mile family fun walk. The registration turnout was much greater than expected with about 700 people in the 5K race and 500 people for the 1-mile walk. After the race, all participants wearing a costume were given a special treat and medals were awarded to the top 3 finishers in each category.
