March Member of the Month: Tina Davis
tina

Tina came to us just over a year ago, from another fitness center in Racine. She decided to join Razor Sharp primarily for the classes and programming we offer. She currently attends a variety of fitness classes five to six days per week. Her favorites are Aqua Bootcamp, Yoga, Guts and Butts, Ringside, and Stability Ball.

In addition to the classes, Tina recently completed the Transitions 12-week weight loss program taught by resident Wellness Consultant Suzanne Williamson, RN, CDE. Although she hasn't seen a dramatic reduction in pounds, she has reduced her body fat percentage by 3%! She says that while it's great that she feels better physically, the most important change she has experienced thus far is how she feels much better about herself emotionally.

Since Tina has become a member of Razor Sharp Fitness, she has even motivated longtime friend and fellow member Lori Patzke to attend classes and exercise on a regular basis with her. Not only has her fitness goals impacted a friend, but her new-found eating habits have benefited her husband as well, stating that in January he was told that he has a blockage and must significantly improve his diet.

Way to go Tina! !

  • Acupuncture for Sinus Problems
  • allergy

Sinus problems can present with an array of symptoms that range from annoying to debilitating, and there really aren't a lot of treatment options available. acupuncture can be a very effective treatment for all types of sinus conditions. Even by itself, Acupuncture can give relief to sinus pressure that can be felt right away. It can also help to unclog stuffed up sinuses and help stop sinuses from running.

Sinus problems can be classified as acute or chronic. Acute sinus problems can be caused by a cold or an allergen that you were exposed to for a short period of time that caused irritation. Acute sinus conditions can usually be treated once or twice and should clear up right away. Acupuncture by itself can be very effective, but herbs may also be used along with the acupuncture to make the treatment even more effective.

Chronic sinus problems can be harder to treat since they are usually caused by a deficiency in the body that has been going on for a long time (even before the symptoms showed up), or by an allergen(s) that you are exposed to all the time or seasonally. Acupuncture can still give some immediate relief for symptoms, but along with the relief of the symptoms, treatment must be given to build up deficiencies in the body (or the resistance to the allergen) otherwise the symptoms will just come right back. A combination of herbs, nutraceuticals, and acupuncture are generally used together to treat chronic sinus problems.

So next time your allergies start to act up, or you end up with that head cold that is being passed around come in and see what acupuncture can do for you.
