front
desk upon exiting the club each visit. Points will be
will be tallied and tracked daily. Prizes will be
awarded based on
total number of
points earned accumulatively for the 12 weeks.
Pre-challenge measurements will be taken
throughout next week by the personal trainers and
Suzanne
Williamson, RN and wellness consultant with post-
challenge measurements acquired the week of April
13th. Body fat percentage, weight, and circumference

your physical transformation. These measurements
are for your personal informational use only and are
not used for awarding prizes.
Every
participant will not only receive their pre-
measurements and post-measurements, but
everyone will also
receive a fitness challenge t-shirt! All
participants earning over 200 points will be entered

More Treadmills Have Arrived!

We apologize for any inconvenience the transition

CoQ10: Turning the Key for Cellular Energy

Are you energized? If the volume of members
attending the club in the New Year is any indication;
then I would have to say "yes", you all have a
tremendous amount of "attitudinal & physical energy".
What about cellular energy though? In this 2-part
series we will examine what exactly cellular energy is,
and what role CoQ10 and ATP (adenosine
triphosphate) play.
Cellular energy is a term found in textbooks, scientific
articles, and on the internet to describe the way our
bodies utilize energy. It has been linked to molecules
such as CoQ10 (coenzyme Q10), and ATP. It is a
process that our body must be very efficient in to
sustain life.
You've seen the word "calories" listed on the
packages of many foods, but have you ever wondered
what that really means? Calories are not a measure
of how fattening a food is, but it's a unit of heat
energy. Food contains calories predominantly in the
form of fats, proteins and carbohydrates. So here is
where cellular energy comes into play; what "cellular
energy" is referring to is the process by which
chemical bonds of organic molecules (food) are
broken, and the energy released is stored as ATP.

Acupuncture Can Help You Stick to Your New Year's Resolution

Making lifestyle changes is never easy, but the start of
a new year gives us the initial motivation to want to
make some changes. No matter how excited we are
when we make our resolution, as time passes and
the excitement wears off it gets harder to keep up with
our goals. This year incorporate Acupuncture and
Oriental Medicine into your plan and stick with your
resolution.
If you decided to quit smoking, or eating junk food,
Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs can help you
manage your cravings, and your emotions. When
starting a new fitness routine, Oriental Medicine can
help get you through the aches and pains of getting
into shape. When your muscles are sore from a good
work out, or if you overdo it Acupuncture and other
TCM Modalities can relieve your aches, pains, or
injuries without having to give up the progress you
have already made. If your energy level is low, or if
your goal is to lose that last couple of pounds,
Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs can help to boost
metabolism and increase your energy.
When combined with good exercise and nutrition
Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine can help you
reach your goals and feel better in the process.
You've made your resolution, now let us help you stick
with it. Call us at 321-0200 and make an
appointment with one of our acupuncturists today!

S.M.A.R.T. Goals - Getting the most out of your training

With the New Year upon us, many of us are
thinking, "What will 2009 bring me?" This decision is
important because whatever it is, it becomes your
goal. This is the reason you are coming to Razor
Sharp and working out and it is your motivator.
Setting a goal is like a New Year's resolution. You
say to yourself, this is what I want to do and you need
to have a plan to accomplish it.
As a coach, one of the first questions I ask is "what is
your goal?" The answer to this question helps me
determine the training plan. This is one of the most
important questions we ask you as part of RPS
Coaching. This becomes the guide for all that you do
during a training period.
A goal is the destination while the training is the
journey. It is very important to pick the
proper "destination". An acronym we use in setting
goals is SMART. The goal must be Specific,
Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely.
