We Saved a Philadelphia Advertising Agency $9,600 on Insurance!

I'm pleased to say that this fall we reduced a Philadelphia advertising agency's insurance costs by over 40%. This amounts to savings of $9,600 per year!

We did a complete review of their business insurance, and moved all of their coverages to insurance companies with experience in their industry. We also reduced their number of insurance carriers from 5 to 3.

Please contact us to see what we can do for your business!

Our Continuing Series: Unpredictable Business Lawsuits

In December two patrons of a San Rafael seafood restaurant suedEscargot the owner because two escargot "exploded" soiling their clothing and splattering them with hot garlic butter.

The judge ruled that the plaintiffs failed to meet their burden of proof saying that, "There is a reasonable expectation of the presence and, thus potential personal injury, due to hot grease in orders of escargot, which are prepared with hot garlic butter."

(Remember that winning a lawsuit still involves legal costs for the business owner. These costs can be covered by insurance.)

A drive-thru customer has filed a lawsuit in a Chicago court accusing a McDonalds worker of spitting right on her face while she ordered breakfast early one morning.

The customer alleges that while ordering from the drive-thru a worker denied her a cheeseburger in an "aggressive and unfriendly tone" because only the breakfast menu was available at that point of time. The employee allegedly stuck his head out, screamed and spat right on her face.

A $100,000 settlement has been reached between a Chicago area grocery store and the family of an 87-year-old woman who slipped and fell in the store's washroom and died nine days later.

The family had filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the grocery store, alleging negligence in the death of the woman who slipped on liquid in the bathroom and fell in May of 2009.

Jewelry Theft Jumps After Holidays

According to the Chubb Insurance, jewelry claims are 15 percent higher in December and January than at any other time of the year. (Claims are 8 percent higher than in February, despite the popularity of jewelry as Valentine's Day gifts.) Nothing can ruin your holiday memories faster than realizing that a new piece of jewelry is missing.

Emerald RingIn the first flush of sentimental joy, could there be anything less romantic than asking how much a ring cost? But if that ring is nice enough to make you tear up, it probably should be insured. Tell the gift giver that you appreciate their gift so much that you want to be certain that it is properly insured.
