Re: We got a face lift!

Welcome to our new newsletter! We hope you find it interesting and easy to read. Even though we've made our newsletter prettier, we promise not to spam you with anything more than what you need to know. (Everyone hates that, including us.) With that in mind, we have lots of great races coming up, new cool-weather gear in stock and plenty of advice to keep you moving and getting fit. Have a great day, and we'll see you on the trail.
Fall for These New Fashions!

nightlife2
As the temperatures drop and we begin adding layers to our outfits, there's no need to sacrifice fashion for function.

Hurry in to check out the latest fall collections from Brooks, Mizuno and more. Some of the highlights include: Brooks Nightlife jackets, vests and long-sleeve shirts, Mizuno Breathe-Thermal gear, Race Ready shorts, compression socks and, finally, arm sleeves! The elites are all wearing arm sleeves, so they must work well, right? One online reviewer, Chic Runner, calls the Zensah Arm Sleeves "simply amazing." Read her review here.

Come Drink With Us!
Starting on Saturdays this fall, Fleet Feet Columbus will be on the deck at Antrim Lake with a hydration station, available to anyone using the path!

For roughly 42 of the 52 Saturdays in a year, we'll provide water and/or Gatorade from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Help yourself to a cup from the jugs on the left side of the deck, marked with the Fleet Feet logo. Runners with our Marathoners in Training group, MIT, should continue to use the jugs on the right of the deck. Never been to Antrim? Click here for a map. We hope to see you there!

The Dead Can Run...and Party

deadcelebrity Dead Celebrity 3 Miler
Saturday, Oct. 31
7 p.m.
High Beck Tavern
564 S. High St

It's aliiiiiive!! The Dead Celebrity was a Columbus tradition for decades. This year it's back and better than ever! With High Beck, Miller Lite and CD101 on board, you and 1,000 of your Dead Celebrity buddies will rock Columbus this Halloween.

If you're new to this event, here's how it goes:  You dress up like your favorite star who has died since last Halloween. You run or walk 3 miles in the dark. (We provide the lights, glow sticks and whatnot.) Then we party like celebrities at The High Beck tavern, and awards will be given for the best costumes, etc. There are even rumors of the grand prize being a trip to Los Angeles for the real Dead Celebrity Bus Tour.

Clean Out Your Closet
soles4souls2 Now is your chance to give away your used shoes to a good cause.
A freshman and cross country runner at Liberty High School has organized a shoe drive at Sunday's Home Stretch race.  Bring your used shoes to the race, and Zach's family will deliver them to Soles4Souls. The non-profit organization coordinated relief efforts for the Asian Tsunami and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, delivering more than 1 million pairs of shoes to the needy.

Zach, who is organizing the effort, will cart your shoes off to a Soles4Souls warehouse in Nashville in October. He has collected almost 300 pairs of shoes already, so let's load him up!

For more information on Soles4Souls, check out their website.

New Bench Thanks to MIT
MIT benchOur training group, Marathoners in Training, enjoys running on the Olentangy trail week in and week out. To show our appreciation, and to help improve the look of the trail after it was severely damaged by the wind storm, MITers held a bake sale that raised $1,500. All of the proceeds were given to the Columbus Parks and Recreation folks so that a pretty sitting area could be built along the river. We at Fleet Feet just want to say thanks to all those who donated their time and money for the effort. We hope you enjoy the new addition to the trail!
