     Jersey Wreck Diving started out with fantastic dives in the beginning of August. Bottom temperatures hit 60 and visabilities were 25+. This made for great hunting. Fluke were all over the wrecks. Some divers would come up with 3-4 good size fish on every trip. Lobstering has been better as well. I think this has been the best season for lobster in the last several years. The last 2 weekends of the month were a bit different. Two storms brushed the Jersey coast making the surfers smile but they cancelled all the diving on those weekends.
      The Wednesday night dives have been well booked for the Summer. Mid-week conditions seen to have been nicer than the weekends. Keep in mind, the Wednesday night dives will run into October, so call Lang's save a spot for yourself.
     There's still time! Late September and October prove to be the best months to get on a Jersey dive. Water will continue to be warm and visabilities usually are even better. There are 6 weekend dives on this season's schedule and a few more Wednesday's. So- call Lang's and take advantage of the great dive season that we have had, and book your trip now.

Dive Tip of the Month-Use Less Air
Minimize your lead
     If you're over weighted, you will need to put more air in your Buoyancy Compensator to float or be neutral. In addition to using more air to fill your BC, the additional inflation of your BC makes it larger and requires more energy to push it through the water. More energy is more oxygen and a higher consumption rate from your cylinder. 
     An extra 4 pounds of lead in your BC is a half gallon bigger when inflated enough to get neutral. Imagine the extra effort having to push an extra half gallon size container through the water while diving. So - conduct a new buoyancy check the next time you get in the water and shed those extra pounds of lead.
