Sarah is leaving the lamp shop
at the end of the year

Sarah (Kridle) Sirchuk came to work at the lamp shop in 1976, 23 years old and fairly fresh out of UC Santa Cruz with a degree in Arts & Crafts.  At first she wired lamps, but was (happily) drawn to designing and making lamp shades.

Undoubtedly her most lasting contribution to the shop is the Window Pane Mica  design, which she has been making for over thirty years.

She has a multitude of interests beyond lamp shades, among them her work with the Master Gardener program. She has maintained the pots in front of the shop and for a number of years sold her charming succulent gardens here as a fundraiser for local food Succulent Gardenprograms, raising hundreds of dollars.

All of us will miss her artistic and creative input, her meticulous attention to detail and her warm nature.

While none of us here really can imagine what it is going to be like without her, we can imagine many avenues for her talents and her creative energies. We wish her all good fortune and invite the many customers who over the years have worked with her, who've appreciated her careful and attentive service and who love her work, to stop in during the early evening on Friday, Dec 16 to extend your good wishes as well.

We'll have light snacks and drinks from 4-7 pm, please join us.
