Wow, am I excited. Our new home page is up, along with several new or expanded pages accessed from there, including Arts and Crafts and Art Glass .
And I never thought I would use this word, but we have "re-purposed" the Collection page. In the past we used this page to cover our Fall Collection event; for the rest of the year we used the page as an archive of our yearly Collection postcard photographs. Now we are using it to help organize and define our Collections on a larger scale, focusing on our Collections in terms of styles (e.g. Arts and Crafts, Asian, Rustic). These styles basically reflect Sue's passions -- carved bone and stone, hand-blown glass, Trench Art, American and European Art Pottery, indigenous arts and crafts, bamboo and baskets, bird-watching and kayaking -- which are evident in all the lamps made in the shop. These are then naturally reflected and interpreted in the shades made by all of us here. And There are more changes coming to the site (translation: more work being done). We have added our newest Ceiling shade designs (for example, see photo to the left), and when all of these newest photos are added to the gallery sections (Table, Floor, Ceiling, and Sconce pages), there will be an "enlarge photo" feature. Hooray! We won't be able to have this feature available on everything yet, but this is a start. And we are happy to send close-up photos of any lamp so that you can see everything as clearly as possible.
I'd like to thank Anne Ricciardi (I call her our web enabler) who has shepherded our site from the start, advising and helping us create a site that reflects the shop. She has taught me so many things and encouraged me so many times I can't possibly number them.
And thanks to all of you for your interest and your support over the years.
Mary Shilman, for Sue and the entire staff
