 Greetings!

Thank you to the more than 175 people who attended TechEDGE 2012 - what a success! After 10 years of celebrating the Technology Community at Awards Night the new format for our annual event was well received. Congratulations to our four award winners and many thanks to all of our sponsors for their support.

Check out our online events calendar for upcoming events, we have some great ones planned for the remainder of the year, including a LinkedIn Live BBQ in August. Also, our annual report is now available online, check out all that we accomplished together in 2011 and what the future has in store for the Technology Community. Wells Fargo grant for FIRST LEGO League

The Future Focus Foundation, the education foundation of Virginia's Region 2000 Technology Council, has received a grant in the amount of $5000 from the Wells Fargo Foundation to support FIRST LEGO League, a popular robotics program for 9-14 year olds. These valuable funds will assist in providing team scholarships, robotics equipment, help with tournament costs, and other regional program expenses.

FIRST programs have been a successful part of our region's S.T.E.M (science, technology, engineering, and math) program for over five years.  FIRST LEGO League is "an exciting and fun global robotics program that ignites and enthusiasm for discovery, science, and technology in kids ages 9-14 (grades 4-8)."  The Future Focus Foundation has taken the lead role in organizing the 2012 tournament with the continued support of Central Virginia Community College.  The tournament is scheduled for this November.
