Greetings!
Wired Wednesday is tomorrow and we only have a few seats left. If you would like to attend, please register today. Because of the increase in the number of people attending our events, we've added more opportunities for you to network this year. You can check our event calendar here for the latest event information. More events are coming online so stay tuned, including an IT Forum and a Technology Showcase. I would like to personally invite you out to our inaugural Tech@Breakfast on March 16 where we'll be hearing from two local technology companies and getting to know other technologists from around the region - I hope to see you there. Lastly, we're always updating our social networking sites. Check out our latest YouTube video about Future Focus EXPO 2009.

VEX Robotics and Jets Competition at L.U.
|
 Two
great opportunities for area youth will be offered in March at Liberty
University. Mark your
calendars for March 4 and March 27, and spread the word to the high school
students you know!
On
March 4, Liberty will host a JETS TEAMS competition. JETS, the Junior Engineering Technical Society, is a
non-profit organization whose mission is to promote engineering and technical
careers to students. The TEAMS
competition is an annual theme-based event in which teams of high school
students work together, using math and science, to solve practical problems
facing today's world. For more information, visit www.jets.org
or contact Liberty University SECS at 434-592-7150. VEX
robotics teams will have a chance to compete on March 27 at Liberty
University. The VEX program gives
teams of high school students the opportunity to work together to learn about
careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) while creating and
programming projects of their own design in response to a given theme. Central
Virginia Community College and Liberty University SECS have VEX kits available at no charge to
teams interested in competing. If
you'd like to coach a team, or find out more information about the VEX
competition, please contact Barbara Bragg at CVCC or Kristine Halsey
at Liberty.
