Greetings!
I want to invite you out this Friday morning to the Center for Advanced Engineering and Research's ground breaking ceremony at 9:30AM. The CAER is building a $7.6M research facility in the New London Business and Technology Center on Rt. 460 in New London. The research facility is a long awaited asset to the technology companies in our region and makes a strong statement to the future of our local economy. Come join the celebration and meet with local and state dignitaries on this momentous occasion. Also, we are still in need of about 10 volunteers for the regional FIRST Lego tournament on November 14. Please consider being a part of this exciting event.

FIRST LEGO Volunteers Needed on 11/14
|

If you've never participated in a Lego tournament
before, you might be surprised at the fun you'll have. Come watch
students from Region 2000 perform the skills they've developed all season; many
of them from your neighborhood schools.
The R2KTC and CVCC host the largest LEGO tournament in the state. Visit our website for more information about tournament day and come be a part of the 2009 Lynchburg Regional Tournament. We need volunteers on Friday evening, November 13th (set-up) and Saturday, November 14 to serve as judges and more. This is a great opportunity for:
- School leaders to support their students
- High School juniors/seniors to earn community service
- Engineering students to foster future interest in STEM
- College students to enhance their portfolios
- Local business and industry to get involved; see your future workforce in action!
For more information or to sign up, contact Barbara Bragg, Tournament Coordinator at (434) 832-7672 or email her at braggb@cvcc.vccs.edu.

The topic was Office 2010 and Windows 7 and our speaker did an excellent job showcasing the capabilities of Microsoft's next generation OS and Office software. This is a great presentation to check out if you are considering the upgrade to Windows 7 or Office 2010.
