Ashton Kutcher Happy 2012!!

What is so interesting about Ashton Kutcher & LL Cool J that 9 MILLION (Ashton) and 1.9 MILLION (LL Cool J) people follow them on Twitter?

While they ARE famous, and I believe that they also exhibit two 'lifestyle traits' that intrigue people.

These 'lifestyle traits' are also something all Leaders and Sales Pros
(those of us who want to Wake Up Eager more often) need in our life too.
  1. They are both living life on their own terms, not by the rules and preferences of others.
  2. They evolve, change and take risks around their work in a very public way.

If you focus on making these traits a bigger part of your work and life, you'll feel more energized, PLUS peers, clients & teammates will be more interested in what you have to say and what you do.  (Which is certainly a good thing if you want to effectively Lead and Sell, right?)

AND, you do NOT need to change your work or move to Hollywood to have more of these traits.

"I don't believe that old cliche that good things come to

those who wait. I think good things come to those who want something so bad they can't sit still."  Ashton Kutcher

LL Cool JYou can start doing more of #1 right now!  In this article I share how I initially struggled with the idea of 'living life on my own terms."  I  also share  resources that help me do more of this.  To read the article, CLICK HERE.

"I'm not trying to keep up or adapt. I'm allowing myself to grow, evolve and create new music."  LL Cool J

And, for #2 - What ways can you grow and evolve YOU in your work in a public way? This week, this quarter, and this year? Pick something and do it, and watch as your excitement around your work grows and deepens.

As for me, here's what I'm evolving in my work this year at the Wake Up Eager Blog/Website & Newsletter: see what's changing, HERE.

Also, don't miss the two new videos this month, and my explanation on WHY I offer this "entertainment" every month  (Yes, there really is a reason...) CLICK HERE for two new videos and find out WHY...

LL Cool J on The View
funThe "WHY" Behind These Videos...AND A New Just for FunVideo!

Over the years my more 'serious-minded' colleagues have asked me WHY I take time to share this 'silliness', "What do 'feel good' videos have to do with work anyway?"

Well, I share the videos for the same reasons people meditate, pray or take a walk: to reduce mental & emotional stress, tension & resistance.

When we feel better we can move closer to "The Zone" which is: that resistant-free, high vibe, no tension, 'Inner Place' of ease and flow, where  our mind is clear and our performance is strong.

Even if it's just for a minute or two, here or there, ANY TIME you & I can spend feeling easier, feels good. And there's no downside to feeling good. None.   You've read those studies about people watching humorous sitcoms and healing themselves, haven't you?

Replacing resistance with laughter IS 'healing' and can lead to new insights and an overall higher work energy and vibe. So, what are you waiting for?  Take a couple of minutes now to laugh.

And then, bring THAT lighter, freer-feeling, higher-vibe back to your work.  This 3+ minute clip is  funny.  LL Cool J also shares thoughtful comments at the end.

*This article will take <2 minutes to read

I struggled with this ("living a life on my own terms, and not by the rules and preferences of others") initially, but over time I've gotten better at it.

And that improvement has helped me create more 'Wake Up Eager' days.

Back in 1996 I was frustrated as I tried to craft my 'Perfect Career and Work Vision'. It was an assignment my Career Counselor had given me.

At the time, I'd been out of college for 10 years. My career looked good to others, but it felt like failure to me.  That's why I hired the Career Counselor...I wanted to figure out what the 'secret' was. What the heck was my recipe for a happy  career and life?

What I had been doing was not working...

The assignment sounded 'easy' --- but, I struggled...TO CONTINUE CLICK HERE.

I'm excited about upcoming changes to the Wake Up Eager website/blog & newsletter.  I want you to know about them so you are not surprised when the 'New Look' arrives in your in-box....

A little background: I've published an e-
newsletter since 2004, but only since January 2009 have I been writing blog posts.

At that time I also took all of my 'web work' in-house. Since January '09 my
blog has blossomed to 230+ detailed posts and traffic has climbed 4,000% to @ 36,000 page views a month.

'I do this Wake Up Eager-Thing' for Two Reasons:
1) I want to continually grow, change and evolve myself, and 2) I want to expand and share Wake Up Eager ideas, insights and encouragement with others, who are interested.

In order to stay true to these intentions, changes are needed. Here's what's coming in the next few months:

  1. New, cleaner, less-cluttered, 'Look  & Feel' (design). See a rough draft sample HERE.
  2. Streamlined focus on Five Wake Up Eager Habits. The acronym I will use for the Habits is: E.A.G.E.R.  Future newsletters will highlight each Habit and there will be a new (and free) Habits Quiz, plus more On-Demand/Self-Study Assessments and Courses.
  3. Cleaner menu and easier navigation.
  4. Online forums to offer more interaction and discussion between readers.
  5. And because so much of my work with past and present clients has been @ Sales positions, the expanded focus and tagline includes sales professionals too: Five Wake Up Eager Habits for Leaders and Sales Pros.

I will keep you posted on the changes.  If you have comments or questions along the way, contact me here.
