Research
Study Finds Low Levels of Physical Activity among Chicago Teens
This Chapin Hall issue brief discusses how students in Chicago public high schools spend their out-of-school time. Researchers looked at students' participation in sports, informal exercise, and other activities, and classified their levels of physical activity. Analyses revealed low levels of activity among most teens. Researchers also identified individual and community characteristics associated with teens' level of physical activity. This report can inform the development of policy and the initiation of programs that can provide more safe and attractive opportunities for physical activity among youth.

Most Illinois Children in Foster Care Were Born to Former Teen Mothers
