This summer season seems to me to be busier than any I can remember. The numbers back up my perception. Rental incomes are up in all of the top resorts and the city's sales tax collection, a good overall barometer of business activity, is breaking records. Link to Article

 New Buildings, Big Plans for CCU Many visitors and even property owners along the Grand Strand don't realize the area is the home of Coastal Carolina University, one of the fastest growing colleges in the country. Once just a small branch campus of The University of South Carolina, it has grown rapidly since becoming an independent university in 1993. Current enrollment is around 9000 students and plans call for that number to climb to 15,000 in the coming years. $245 million in new facilities are being added between now and 2015.
