There is only 1 week to go until the inaugural National Health and Physical Education Day on Wednesday September 5. |

What is National Health & Physical Education Day?
National Health & Physical Education Day promotes the importance of H&PE in the Australian Curriculum, and highlights the importance of H&PE to the learning and development of children and young people. It will be a day for your school to showcase its successful H&PE program.

What will you be doing to celebrate National Health & Physical Education
Day?
There is still time to get your school involved in National Health & Physical Education Day celebrations.

Join over 600 schools who will be Running Around The World
The best way to celebrate is to take part in the adidas Run Around the World event on National Health & Physical Education Day.
ACHPER has partnered with adidas to make the run the marquee event for the day.
All students need to do is run, jog, or walk at least 1km each on the day. Already we have more than 600 schools & 150,000 students registered to take part - that equates to over 3 laps around the world!
Only 3 days left to register & be a part of an Australian record attempt to have the most amount of students walking/running on the same day!

|
Celebrate in your own way & share your story
There are a number of resources and ideas your class or school can implement on the day in the Plan-To-Celebrate School Guide.
Why not incorporate H&PE into your school curriculum by holding a PE quiz in your classroom, holding a skip-off or a tug-of-war competition during lunchtime, or get your whole school to participate in a fun & engaging activity like a health hustle or a health & wellbeing forum for parents?
|
|
We encourage you to demonstrate why you value H&PE in your school by sharing some of the things you do in your H&PE program with the community & become an Ambassador for the day.
Take this opportunity to promote the importance of H&PE to your students, parents and wider school community. If you are proud of what you do, then tell us about it and we will post your ideas or successes on our website.
Irene McCormack Catholic College in WA is holding an expo for health & fitness. Eidsvold State School in QLD, as well as participating in the adidas Run Around The World event, is holding a 'dress up as your favourite sporting stars day' & a healthy lunch day.

Participate in your state/territory H&PE Week activities
A number of our ACHPER state/territory branches are holding their H&PE Weeks around National Health & Physical Education Day so you can expect to have plenty of opportunities to show parents and the community some of the important things you do to promote active and healthy living and learning through your H&PE program.
