Safety first, quality always! How far this simple philosophy has taken us. Everyone deserves to go home at the end of each day to be with their family. This is the moral obligation we have to each other and it will not be compromised.
At HarenLaughlin, quality applies to more than our craftsmanship. It speaks to the quality of the communication we have with owners', architects and subcontractors. Quality in the paperwork required of field and office alike for so many people rely on the accuracy of its content. The quality of the relationships forged between team members in our efforts to create a superior facility for our client. Anything worth doing is worth doing right...and with quality.
I see these attributes as minimum standards with which to conduct business, however our clients have mentioned repeatedly that it is a refreshing change from other construction experiences they have endured. Perhaps their prior experiences are a reflection of changing times or changes in our industry.
Our philosophy of 'safety first, quality always,' has created some very satisfied and loyal clients. Our clients have helped us expand our business in many ways. In August, the Kansas City Business Journal's listing of Top General Contractors ranked HarenLaughlin as #10 in 2009 annual volume and #13 by local volume. The July issue of Ingram's Magazine reported the top 100 Fastest Growing Companies in Kansas City between the years 2006-2009. HarenLaughlin ranked #25 with a 93% growth rate! In May, HarenLaughlin was awarded "Project of the Year" for Missouri Bank - Crossroads and runner up for the senior living community the Sweet Life at the AGC Building Excellence Awards.
While I'm not one to talk much about these milestones, I am convinced that our recent success is a result of superior customer service at every turn...and working safely on every project!

HarenLaughlin Recognized by Area Business Publications 
HarenLaughlin Construction was named by the Kansas City Business Journal as 13th in their listing of Top Area General Contractors. This is the fourth straight year that the Business Journal has included HarenLaughlin in this listing, and two places higher on the list from 2009. This listing is based on annual billings for Kansas City area projects. In the re-ranking of the list based on total billings, HarenLaughlin had climbed to 10th place. In a recent review of Kansas City-based companies, HarenLaughlin Construction was named by Ingram's Magazine as 25th on their annual list of 100 fastest-growing companies. Inclusion on the list is based on rolling sales over a four year period of time, from 2006 to 2009. Over this four year period of time, HarenLaughlin experienced a 93% growth rate. This is HarenLaughlin Construction's first entry onto this distinguished list. |

At HarenLaughlin, we partner with philanthropic organizations that build strong families, encourage children, and foster education. In this spirit of supporting our community, Friday, October 15th was set aside as a day of community service. Our team participated in philanthropic endeavors building with Habitat for Humanity and packing weekend food packs at Harvesters for children supported through the BackSnack program.
The Results?
Our Habitat team installed roof trusses, plywood and roof prep materials, doors and windows on an entire home. Our Harvesters team assembled 1000 lunch packs, filling four pallets with weekend meals for kids who may not otherwise have something to eat.
Some call service to our community being a good corporate citizen. At HarenLaughlin, we call it an unyielding commitment to the community where we live and work. |
Resident Ready at Park Central
 HarenLaughlin Construction has completed an extensive renovation of the Park Central Apartments in Kansas City, Missouri. Located in the historic Hyde Park neighborhood, this 1920's landmark was restored with infinite care and attention to architectural details. A new generation of residents are set to enjoy the character and stylized finishes of this architectural gem.
