Four Grants Recently Received to Underwrite Main Programs
Via recently received grants from a number of local foundations and corporations. The Leo M. Shortino Family Foundation of San Jose approved a grant to underwrite our First Step Early Intervention Program, which helps special-needs children become school ready. The SanDisk Corporation Fund also approved a grant to help the First Step program, as did The Stella B. Gross Charitable Trust. The timing of these grants could not have been better. First Step will be helping a record number of children this year. Almost 2,000 children under the age of 8 will directly benefit from these three grants.
Click here to learn more about First Step. These three charitable organizations have been long-time supporters of Via Services and the terrific work our First Step program performs.
In addition, Via also was the recipient of a Microsoft Unlimited Potential Grant, which will be used to fund general operations. Microsoft is one of the Valley's most generous corporate citizens and Via is pleased to have it as a supporter.

Local Clubs Plant Shrubs and Paint Buildings
Thanks to the extraordinary work of members from eight local Kiwanis clubs, the Lettermen Lodge and the maintenance shed at Via West received new coats of paint. What a difference! The Kiwanians then stayed for a barbecue and fundraiser.
Via is fortunate to have many great organizations that collectively put in thousands of volunteer hours annually. The Kiwanis are among the best. Speaking for all the families and staff at Via West, thank you very much.
