By some estimations, the production and sale of explicit pornography now represents the seventh-largest industry in America. New videos and Internet pages are produced each week, with the digital revolution bringing a host of new delivery systems. Every new digital platform becomes a marketing opportunity for the pornography industry. Read more...

With the introduction of Google+ as a competitor in July, Facebook has been ramping up its efforts to improve the experience of its users and match some of the other social network's innovations. Some of these enhancements were released just before the F8 conference on September 22, and more will be rolled out in the coming weeks. The good news is, the competition means users win. | New Guide to Protecting Kids on YouTube

One of the biggest Internet safety concerns of many parents is the prevalence of online video, particularly on YouTube. And for good reason: more video is uploaded to YouTube in one month than the three major US television networks created in 60 years. But it's not all kittens playing piano or My Little Pony. Quite a few videos, both professional and user-created, would be considered inappropriate for most audiences.
That's why we've created a new resource, "The Parent's Guide to Protecting Kids on YouTube." This guide will lay the groundwork for talking to your kids about YouTube, and will help you set up a safe corner for yourself and your family.
