Guitar: Taylor Guitars 814CE
My pick of the month has to be the Taylor Guitars 814CE, like the one I am playing now. I love the ease of operation of the Expression System and the ability to dial in your tone. The size of the guitar is so comfortable to hold standing and sitting. The playability up the neck seams effortless. Fit and finish is flawless. Tone ... I have many guitars here to select from and this one plugged in was the one for me. It is my first acoustic electric and should last me a long time. I love it. Jim Holler photo
Guitar: Larrivee P03R
I am a man of many fine guitars, so it is rare that a guitar comes in which makes me think, " How can I get this one home?" But it happened at Trinity Guitars at least twice. The first was a Martin HD28 sunburst, which I am glad to say did follow me home. The second is the Larrivee P03R that arrived this week. I am showing restraint on this one so it's still at Trinity Guitars waiting for someone to claim it.
First let me say the guitar has a one-piece neck, which seems a little beefier than most of the newer Larrivee guitars. I love the wide-open tone and the neck set is just right - plenty of saddle left exposed. It is truly one of the best Larrivee parlor guitar I have played. And it's LOUD! Bill Ward photo |

Bill Ward |
Bill Ward is a singer/songwriter with considerable performing and recording experience. At Trinity Guitars, he serves as resident guitar geek, tech, and instructor, and will actually sell you something if he can keep his hands off of it long enough. He plays a sunburst Martin HD-28 and a Larrivee 000-50.
In his fourth decade of performing, Bill started playing solo acoustically in local venues, eventually finding his way down the East coast and into the Austin, TX clubs in the late 70's. A influence in Northeastern acoustic music, Ward formed alliances with some of the best musicians in western NY. In the 70's and 80's, he played with acoustic music pioneers of the day, and helped forge an acoustic music scene in the area, introducing venues to an atmosphere that featured the artists performing in a concert format. These days, he is still performing, teaching and promoting music in the Western NY area. |

Kidder Alive Band |
Jim Holler enjoys his new 814CE Taylor Guitar. In this photo, Jim is performing with the church band called Kidder Alive. They are performing in an open-air concert at the River Walk Park located in Jamestown, NY. Jim said, "I love the playability and tone but most of all the ES system. This guitar is very easy to control using the ES system when playing in the band". |
| Tie Die Shirts for Haiti |
Tie Die Shirts Available |
From the moment Taylor has begun to donate t-shirts for Trinity's efforts to help the Haiti rescue, folks have responded very well. It's no wonder, given that the shirts are very cool on their own. Bille Ward, (Bill's daughter) herself a veteran of more than a few domestic and international relief efforts, saw that the white ones were ever so ripe for tie-dyeing. So much so that she has created her own line of custom tie-dyed Taylor wear. They are exclusive to Trinity Guitars, so stop in and get your own custom shirt, while donating to the Haiti cause! |
